YOU ARE NOT CHEATING ON YOUR GOALS...
If you have to change your plans and do something differently?
…NOPE!
Sometimes we can get so married to an idea about how our goals/plans should work that when it doesn’t go as planned it feels devastating!
Can I be honest with you for a minute?
I failed in my goals for Season 4 of the Podcast —and it’s only February Sis!
But guess what? This time around, I’m not even mad about it!
Can I encourage you a little bit?
Instead of beating yourself up about what feels like a failure right now, make a shift in the way you think about this experience; decide to LEARN from the places where your plans have failed and pivot until it feels right!
This feels so much better!

HONOUR YOUR SOFTNESS + SENSITIVITY…

Here are a few boundary suggestions that may help you do this:

🤫 Acknowledge and honour your need for alone and quiet time— even if you need more of it than others like or are comfortable with.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
☕️ Take time away from technology and social media as it can cause sensory/stimulation overload
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🙅🏾♀️ Reduce your availability + accessibility. Maybe only make yourself reachable via text, email, or DM’s
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⚡️Prioritizing connections that energize us instead of ones that drain us

SOMETIMES “I’m fine” is all we can share…

There are many reasons why the “honest” answer isn’t always the best to share.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are times when depression and anxiety are kicking your actual butt and you barely have enough emotional capacity to see past the next moment.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While saying “I’m fine” is ok, please be aware of the need to be able to share your mental and emotional burdens. You do not have to carry them alone.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you are in a place where LIFE is coming at you hard. You definitely NEED a safe space to share your load…please, please, please ask for the help you need.

The way we THINK impacts how we FEEL and ACT. Which is why I’m STILL talking about Negative Thoughts...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
because when we are struggling with ANTs it is really helpful to have a management strategy in place so that we aren't allowing our lives to be overrun by pesky unsupervised negative thoughts.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
SO How can we stop them...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Recognizing that you are experiencing an error in thought is a very important step because it creates awareness and allows you the opportunity to challenge your thoughts.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Writing down the thought helps you to SEE the thought outside of your head. This allows you to clear space in your thought and unload some of the emotional responses that the thought has created.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Rating your distress level gives an opportunity to further analyze and process the thought, its trigger and the physical sensations associated with it. Rate 1 - 10 (1= hardly felt anything and 10= very intense and overwhelming).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Fear is only problematic when we dwell in it too long.
As Believers, we are not exempt from experiencing fear or doubt.
The beauty of our faith is that when we walk through these things, it helps us overcome them.

We can't always change what's happening around us or outside of our bodies, but we can always have the ability to change the way we THINK about what's happening around us.

Our is the most powerful tool we have when it comes to changing our lives. Our thoughts inform our feeling AND behaviours.
