Volunteer Opportunity!

Niagara Nursery School is looking for volunteers to join our Board of Directors for the 2025-2027 term.

Looking to give back to your community? Niagara Nursery School has been an essential part of the Niagara on the Lake community for 50+ years.

Growing Together (Well-Being) - Our infants love to help water the plants we have growing inside and out, so their teachers take these learning opportunities to teach them about taking care of where we live so we can be happy and healthy.

A Strange Feeling (Engagement) - There are so many ways to learn, and our Toddlers got a great opportunity to learn about textures the other day as they explored some homemade sensory tiles with their hands and feet.

Make Some Noise (Expression) - Our infants have been learning to express themselves through sound, showing their excitement, happiness, joy, and even frustration with the rotation of simple instruments our infant teachers provide, ensuring the children get to experience new sounds frequently to further their expression

Feel Better Friend (Belonging) - Over the past year, Our Preschoolers have been participating in a Seeds of Empathy program which has helped them get in tune with how others around them are feeling and how to support one another when they are feeling down.

We’re sittin’ pretty over here at NNS with our new tables and chairs that were recently delivered! 🪑

🙏 We want to send out a huge thank you to all those who have supported our fundraisers. Without your support we would not have been able to purchase this much needed upgrade for our classroom tables, chairs, and other resources.

Toddler Tool Time 🔨 (Engagement) - Our Toddlers are very interested in tools lately, especially hammers and screwdrivers. It's amazing to see them work toward a common goal and feel like they are part of a team!

Imitation Station (Expression) - When our infants engage in imitation play like this, they make connections to the world around them and end up learning many new words that help them express their wants and needs.

Summer Smoothies 🍓🥤 (Well-Being) - We always try to talk about why healthy food is important for our bodies with our Preschoolers. Sometimes that includes making smoothies with fresh berries while practicing how to cut food safely.

Friends Around the World 🌏 (Belonging) - Our Preschoolers have been enjoying learning about where their friends’ families are from using globes, books, and more to find out about how they are all similar and how they are all unique at the same time.

Learning Sun Safety (Well-Being) - Lately, our Toddlers have been expressing their independence by practicing how to apply sunscreen using items from our playground and imitating what they see their teachers do when applying sunscreen to their friends. ☀️
