More than 80% of the world’s English-speaking population can’t participate comfortably in conversation. Thompson Language Center was created to transform individual access to the global conversation. Located in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Thompson Language Center teaches a simple model for how all spoken English works. FYI It has nothing to do with how English is taught in school. Layers of fun! It's a play on homophones (different spellings and meanings - same sound) and a mnemonic rule of thumb for English spelling that's wrong over 28% of the time.
I before E is one of those silly things teachers repeat (authoritarianism) that if they thought about, they'd stop repeating.

Heroic educators! V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University - Ukraine
This was a comment after a wonderful conference in Ukraine on Friday.
"We are very grateful for your excellent talk Judy. Hardly had the conference been over when there was an alert, there was an attack and again at the electricity infrastructure. We appreciated your participation and hope to cooperate in the future. Once again thank you from the bottom of my heart for your help and support, for your contribution, warmth, kindness and highest professionalism. Let’s stay in touch ❤you are amazing."
They are amazing! All participants received free pdfs of English is Crazy and the Backpacker Trilogy and I'm invited back next year.

I remember packages of cookies, heads of cauliflower, meat in butcher paper.... toys... food furniture... all purchased and packaged without plastic. We can do this. We did it before.
(Why do manufacturers have to be legislated to do the right thing?)

What's true for all of us is school hasn't changed in approach or content regardless of the times or needs of learners.

The total solar eclipse over my house yesterday brought this home to me. Humans are a riot.

We lost it before the media got us. Look at the Jimmy Jones frenzy in the States, Gaza and elsewhere. Horrors we thought we'd never see again.
The intention in industrial education was to take away the ability to think from the masses. Super success. What can we do about it now?

AN exists because we can't pronounce two vowel sounds consecutively, and all internal words start with consonant sounds. 'An egg' is pronounced /a_negg/, an ape /a_nape/, an ipad /a_nipad/ ...
Preceding a noun with an A or an AN doesn't have anything to do with spelling. A before consonants and AN before vowels right? Not true.
Which would you use before:
__ uniform
__ one
__ European
__ M or N or S...
__ x-ray
__ honor
__ unit
It's a sound thing. The first sound in uniform is Y, in one is W, in European is Y, in Em, En, Es and Ex are E's. The h in honor is silent. The first sound in unit is Y.
It's about the physically easiest way to speak, not spelling or word breaks. Learners love to know this stull.

For those of us who haven't had our ears bitten off, Happy Easter is pronounced Happe_Yeaster.
has nothing to do with English .
In speaking, once a phrase has started all subsequent words begin with consonant sounds. Always. Regardless of spelling or word breaks.
love it when you give them a heads up about this phenomenon.
4 days ago I posted on why the 'Cross I'd Bear' and the 'Cross-Eyed bear' sound exactly the same.
