Niagara Falls Chess Club

Hello chess players. Niagara Falls Chess Club will be meeting tomorrow Monday May 25th from 5-9pm for over the board chess.

- Casual play: 5:00 PM - 9:00pm

- CFC rated active tournament: 6:30-9pm

We will be playing round 3 of our CFC rated rapid tournament. 15m+10s. Each week players will face off against one opponent in two back to back games (switching colours). All players who wish to participate please be onsite by no later than 6:15pm with a valid CFC membership. Players who wish to be paired but may be late please message me privately to be paired. Players can join in the tournament at any time.

We got a surprise visit from CM Eric Van’t Hof today for Monday night chess. Eric heads back to Amsterdam this week but decided he did not get enough chess this weekend.

2026 Niagara Falls Open and U1200 results

1st place: FM Omid Khaledi ,FM Christian Stevens and IM Brian Hartman (Split 1st-3rd prize money)

2nd place: Michael Buscar, WCM Shuang Chen and Zihan Hong (Split 4th and 5th place prizes)

Top Senior: NM Eric Van't Hof, Keith Wight and Steve Tukonic (Split 1st and 2nd senior prizes)

U1800: Pranav Pillai, Claudio Sottile, Sanya Divadalage (Split)

1600: Austin Hunter, Neil McLeod, Bryan Samways, Onur Erginer (Split)

U1400: Samuel Ottmann-Villareal, Nicholas Delgashev (Split)

The U1200 Section was won by Isaiah Stumpf who was unrated so therefore could not win the main prize but collected the top unrated prize

1200 2nd place: Eric (Zilong) Wang, Anthony Giuliano and Hudson Stumpf (1st and 2nd prize split by Eric and Anthony as Hudson was unrated)
