Foxtrot most commonly refers to one of two things:
1. A ballroom dance – A smooth, progressive dance performed to big band or swing music (in 4/4 time). It was developed in the 1910s by Harry Fox and is known for its signature “slow-slow-quick-quick” rhythm.
2. The NATO phonetic alphabet – The code word for the letter “F” (e.g., “Foxtrot, Uniform, Charlie, Kilo” spells “F**K”).
