Look at this! 💜✊❤️
This is why Calandra is terrified of bargaining with us.
Across this province, education workers are standing together across classifications, unions and job titles because we know exactly what this government has done to public education.
Years of underfunding created the very thing they should fear most: frontline workers united and ready to force change.
We’re already showing them what happens when we stand together.

Education workers, labour leaders and community allies took to the streets of Stouffville in Paul Calandra’s riding.
CUPE Ontario,Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL), OECTA - Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association and Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) leadership stood alongside OSBCU - CSCSO leaders, education workers and CUPE 1734 members in solidarity for properly funded public education.
The message from Stouffville residents was clear: they’re fed up with their MPP and they want change.
More lawn signs went up across the community to visibly show their support for educators.
One street, one conversation, one action at a time…this is how we take our schools back. 💜✊

Facilitating. Leading. Learning.
Members of our organizing team are building skills and knowledge alongside OSBCU - CSCSO workers from across the province.
Different roles, different-sized boards, some new to union work and others with years of experience. One thing is clear: the fight for our students, our schools and each other is the same.
So is this: we cannot normalize what is happening in public education, and changing it will take every single one of us. No one person, family, or union federation can do it alone. It will take education workers, families and communities speaking up, showing up and demanding better.
At 5 p.m., we’re taking that determination to Stouffville.
Voters in Paul Calandra’s constituency need to hear what he and Doug Ford are doing to OUR schools and OUR communities. As long as this government keeps making these choices, the damage will continue. It’s time to change the trajectory!
Join us at 5 p.m. It’s time to turn frustration into action.

Tomorrow is another moment to turn your frustration into action. 💜
OSBCU - CSCSO member organizers from across Ontario are joining CUPE 1734 in Stouffville to speak directly with local residents about how decisions by their MPP and Education Minister, Paul Calandra, are impacting our publicly funded schools: fewer frontline supports, rising student needs, and schools pushed to the breaking point.
We need you with us- the more voices we have, the harder these issues are to ignore! 💜✊❤️
Bonus: there’ll be pizza and ice cream for everyone who registers and attends.

A few more moments from yesterday because this deserves their own post. ❤️🎉
Cotton candy, games, prizes, balloons, hot dogs and a whole lot of fun in Georgina.
Thank you to everyone who came out, brought the kids, pitched in, helped behind the scenes or simply spent part of their afternoon with us.
This is what community feels like. 💜

Yesterday in Georgina, about 100 people came together with a clear message: our public schools are worth showing up and standing up for. ✊💜
Kids played games, ate cotton candy, and left with prizes and balloons - reminding us who we are fighting for, while families and community members had honest conversations with education workers about what’s happening in our schools.
ETFO, OPSEU and CUPE 1196 leadership and members joined us in a powerful representation of what solidarity looks like. Different unions. Different roles, all standing together for students and each other.
That power also exists at the ballot box. It’s why CUPE 1734 invited the three main candidates in the York-Simcoe by-election so voters could meet them, ask questions and make an informed choice.
Liberal candidate Naomi Davison and NDP candidate Bobby Nikmard quickly accepted, arrived early and even helped set up. They spent the evening talking with the people they hope to represent. PC candidate Susan Lahey neither attended nor responded to the invitation, reflecting a broader pattern of avoiding accountability on key issues like education.
Solidarity is power.
Being informed is power.
Voting is power.
Georgina and all of York-Simcoe have the power to be at the forefront of change in this province, and we’re here for it. 💜

💜 Tomorrow in Georgina! 💜
🚨IMPORTANT LOCATION CHANGE🚨
Due to thunderstorms in the forecast, tomorrow’s event has been moved indoors to the Georgina Ice Palace, 90 Wexford Drive, Keswick.
Join us from 4:00-6:30 p.m. for food, games, and real conversations about what’s happening in our publicly funded schools.
Connect with education workers, families and neighbours, and speak one-to-one with York-Simcoe MPP by-election candidates about staffing cuts, growing student needs, and the learning and working conditions in our schools.
Pick up a lawn or window sign and help make support for publicly funded education visible across our communities.✊
