Let go of perfection and discover what happens when colour, gesture and imagination begin to lead.

Join artist Janet Slavin for an immersive two-day workshop exploring expressive mark-making, painted papers, collage and bold floral composition. Using acrylic paint and unconventional tools, you’ll layer colour, build texture and create one or two large, richly expressive works.

This is a workshop for playing, experimenting and trusting your creative instincts with Janet’s warm, encouraging guidance along the way.

I can’t say enough good things about the Lyndhurst Seeley’s Bay Chamber of Commerce and the wonderful work they have done to create and organize this summer’s Sunday Drive program. It has been such a pleasure to be part of it and to work alongside people like Cynthia from Ridgeway Confections, who has put an enormous amount of time, energy and heart into bringing this project to life.

The whole idea is simple: get out, explore, and discover some of the wonderful people, businesses and places tucked throughout our extended community.

Ready to take your watercolour painting to the next level?

Painting the Four Seasons is a unique workshop curated around colour and light. Over one inspiring weekend, you will explore the distinctive palettes of spring, summer, autumn, and winter, becoming more familiar with the colours, light, mood, and atmosphere that define each season.

Think of it as a full year of seasonal colour exploration gathered into one concentrated weekend. You will expand your palette, strengthen your understanding of seasonal colour relationships, and prepare yourself for a year of painting and studying the landscape with greater confidence.

Designed for advancing beginners with some watercolour experience and intermediate painters looking for a creative and technical boost, this workshop will also strengthen the skills you need for outdoor en plein air painting. Working in the studio gives you time to slow down, experiment, and make thoughtful decisions about colour, light, and composition before taking those skills into the landscape.

Vic Dohar brings more than 25 years of watercolour experience to the studio. He earned his Fellowship with the Ottawa Watercolour Society in 2009 and, in 2025, was elected to the prestigious Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour. A respected instructor, lecturer, and exhibiting artist, Vic is recognized for his evocative paintings of nature, the countryside, and the Canadian wilderness.

The workshop is coming up quickly, but this is an easy decision to make. If you are ready to improve your watercolour work, strengthen your palette, and build your confidence, don’t overthink it. Just enrol and give yourself one wonderful weekend to grow.
