Happy Holidays everyone!
Generosity is a cornerstone of Taekwondo and martial arts. It fosters a sense of community and mutual growth. In our dojang, we believe that sharing knowledge, offering support, and helping each other improve are essential to our collective success. When we practice generosity, we create an environment where everyone feels valued and motivated to give their best.
In martial arts, generosity isn’t just about giving material things; it’s about giving your time, energy, and encouragement to your fellow students. Whether it’s helping a beginner with a new technique, offering words of encouragement during a tough training session, or simply being there to listen, every act of generosity strengthens our community.
Generosity also teaches us humility and respect. By recognizing that we all have something to learn from each other, we open ourselves up to new perspectives and experiences. This mindset not only helps us grow as martial artists but also as individuals.
Moreover, generosity shouldn’t be limited to the McBride OMAC community. We encourage you to be kind and compassionate in our daily lives, fostering positive relationships and a sense of belonging. When we practice generosity, we contribute to a culture of respect and support that benefits everyone.
As a community of martial artists, let’s embrace the spirit of generosity. Let’s support each other, share our knowledge, and celebrate each other’s successes. Together, we can create a community where everyone thrives and grows.
Remember, a small act of kindness can make a big difference. So, let’s be generous with our time, our knowledge, and our hearts. 🥋💪

Before we head into December and the holiday season, we would like to give recognition to a student who has demonstrated outstanding character this past month of November.
We would like to congratulate Sayantan D. for demonstrating all the core competencies of a martial artist and being a role model in the McBride OMAC community this month. In the past 4 weeks, our teaching staff has observed you to be a well-composed individual and a naturally respectful student.
Sayantan has distinguished himself to be a leader in his class and the dojang, we have no doubts that he does the same off the mats as well. We look forward to seeing you reach your taekwondo goals and celebrate your achievements with you.
Congratulations Sayantan D. !👏

It is with great regret and a very heavy heart to announce the passing of a former OMAC Taekwondo student, Rowena Lau.
Not only was Rowena a top athlete in our organization, she showed all the traits of what it means to be a true taekwondo student: dedication, commitment, and a determined work ethic. Rowena’s competitive and fiery spirit in the ring was enough to overawe all of her training partners.
Rowena also showed all of us that she is kind, generous and her infectious smile and positive attitude beamed throughout the dojang.
You will be sorely missed and may you rest in peace. 💔

Some very unfortunate news to pass along.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Master Huy Phan, owner of Tri-City Taekwondo and 4 Elements Martial Arts.
We are incredibly saddened and shocked with his sudden passing.
We remember him as an inspirational and loving leader to his students and Taekwondo community.
We ask for your thoughts, prayers, and support as his friends and family navigate this ordeal. Some members of the BC Taekwondo Board will be meeting with Master Phan’s family to offer support and guidance.
While we do not know the details of his passing, we ask our Taekwondo BC community to come together and respect his family’s privacy at this time and support one another by remembering how he lived and what he stood for. He was a man with a big and generous heart with an ability to make everyone around him feel better about themselves.
Upon meeting with his family, if there are any details about a service or celebration of life, we will be sure to let everyone know.
Thank you to everyone in advance.

We wanted to pass along the news of a disturbing incident that happened at the dojang on Saturday morning. Somebody picked the locks of our back hallway and attempted to steal all of our computers from the after school program. Luckily, it took the quick thinking and bravery of Instructor Ariel to chase this person away and they left the computers behind as they were running away. We are alerting all parents and students, if you see this person anywhere around the mall area to call the police immediately as there is enough evidence to arrest them. Thank you everybody.

Our 2022 Student of the Year is Instructor Meredith B! We have seen tremendous growth from a leadership standpoint from Instructor Meredith. 2022 is when Instructor Meredith expanded her role at the dojang by becoming an instructor and influential leader that our students can look up to.
We hope that Instructor Meredith will continue to be a positive influence on our students and continue to motivate them to do their best. Congratulations!
