Day 2: Learning intentions - I can self-regulate when in the community and I can safely participate in a variety of physical activities. Prior to going on our swimming field trips, students created action-criteria charts for self-regulating in the community. We will review the criteria they created whenever we so anything outside of school to ensure the criteria is explicit! We create these for students and teachers for all sorts of behaviors from walking in the hall, transitioning to different classes, to self-regulating during lessons and independent work-time. Making the learning intentions and success criteria clear to the students gives them a better chance to be successful! In addition to this we also reviewed proper pool safety to ensure everyone’s safety at the pool. We are lucky to have the pool just across the street from us! 🏊🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️
