Step into a PALS classroom and you'll see understanding, inclusion, and belonging in every activity. We look forward to a day when autism is supported and accepted in all spaces, and that a school like ours isn't considered special, but the standard.

Join us in practicing acceptance, and together we can make that day today!

💙 Valuing all forms of communication
✨ Respecting sensory needs
💙 Creating environments where everyone can thrive
✨ Choosing connection - and being a friend to those who experience the world differently

☀️❄️ Our students learn year-round at PALS Autism School, and their classrooms need to be comfortable, calm, and sensory-friendly in every season. ❄️☀️

But our beautiful heritage school building can get very hot in the summer and quite chilly in the winter. For students with sensory sensitivities, these temperature swings can be quite uncomfortable.

That’s why we’re raising funds to upgrade our heating and cooling systems - and your gift can make twice the impact.

💛 Thanks to the Hao family, every donation made between now and December 31 will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $25,000.

Your support helps create classrooms that are cozy in the winter, cool in the summer, and comfortable all year long.

Thank you for supporting our students and helping create learning spaces where they can thrive. 💖💛🩵

🌻This Thanksgiving, as you sit down to a comforting meal with loved ones, we'd like to share the story of one remarkable student, Adriana, and acknowledge the impact our supporters have had on her family:

For over eight years, Adriana’s diet was limited to just five foods: dry Chex cereal, cheese pizza, yogurt, toast, and grilled cheese. For her and her family, mealtimes were a daily challenge.

When Adriana joined PALS, our team of therapists and educators began working together through applied behaviour analysis, occupational therapy, and speech therapy to gently help her systematically explore new tastes and textures. Over time, she learned to feel safe trying new things.

One evening this spring, Adriana’s mom sent a message to the school exclaiming, “Look what Adriana is eating tonight!! It’s like a switch turned on and now she’s willing to try new things - it feels like a big weight lifted off my chest.” The message came with a photo of a half-eaten cheeseburger!

Now, at 13 years old, Adriana enjoys everything from stir-fry to calamari, and this Thanksgiving weekend, she’ll be eating her family’s eggplant casserole, a dish her mom loved as a child.

As you gather around your own Thanksgiving table, think about the foods that bring you comfort and joy. For Adriana, each brave new bite is a step toward greater independence, and it’s thanks to supporters like you.

Thank you for being part of our community. Your generosity truly makes a lifelong difference.

Wishing you and your loved ones a wonderful Thanksgiving! 💛🍂

💜💚 We’re so grateful to the TELUS for awarding a grant to support technology in our Occupational Therapy program at PALS Autism School!

This grant helps us integrate tools like our customized school app called 'PALS In Touch', which keeps families connected to their child’s progress through photos, updates, reports, assessments, forms, and shared milestones.

With TELUS’ support, our students are building independence, confidence, and essential life skills, powered by technology and care. 💚💜

Family Activities for September 30th:

🧡 Orange Shirt Craft: Make or decorate an orange shirt colouring sheet together with pre-printed picture icons, markers, or stickers. This allows for hands-on creativity while talking about why “Every Child Matters.”

📖 Read-Aloud Time: Share a children’s book by an Indigenous author (many are short and visual, great for kids who process information better through stories and pictures).

🎶 Music and Movement: Listen to drumming or songs from Indigenous musicians (we like "The Honor Song"), then create your own rhythms together. Movement breaks can be very regulating.

🌳 Nature Walk: Go for a calm walk outside and talk about Indigenous Peoples’ deep relationship with the land. Collect leaves, rocks, or pinecones and make a small “gratitude display” at home.

💛 Give $25 in the next 24 hours 💛

Children with autism deserve a fun, inclusive summer too — but most camps aren't designed to support their needs.

Without the PALS Summer Program, our students risk two months of social isolation and losing the critical skills they’ve worked so hard to build all year.

That’s why this program is so essential.

At PALS, students continue to receive:
✔ Academic review to retain concepts
✔ Speech, occupational, and behaviour therapies
✔ Hands-on life skills, field trips, and community outings
✔ A joyful, safe space where they belong

💛 But we need your help. Your $25 donation today helps cover:
🎒 Field trip admissions & bus rentals
🧑‍🤝‍🧑 1:1 staff support for safe, inclusive outings
🍳 Cooking ingredients
🎨 Art & science materials
🛴 Scooters, helmets, and sports gear
🍦 Ice cream, water balloons & more summer joy!

We're aiming for 100 donors in 24 hours to help us get closer to our $10,000 goal.

Can you be one of them?

🌞Help Make Summer Shine for PALS Kids!

Most summer camps aren’t designed to include children with autism — but PALS is.

Our specialized summer program provides five weeks of learning, field trips, academic review, continued therapies, and fun! Without it, students risk losing hard-earned skills learned through the year, and families are left without the support they need in the summer.

👉 Our goal: Raise $10,000 by August 15 to keep this vital program thriving.

💛 Give as much or as little as you can.

✨ Every gift helps give a child with autism the summer they deserve.
