An introduction to cooking using the summer harvest of vegetables and fruit (we have a community garden at Lord Kelvin and there will be plenty to harvest in July) and other fresh ingredients. This 5-day camp program takes children on a journey of all the goodness BC has to offer. As for the campers, they will learn and use the skills at home too. All camp days will include morning yoga sessions, cooking activities, crafts, and a tie in with the Indigenous BC Curriculum. Camps include a field trip to Save-On Foods and a local market (Joy Market) to learn how to shop on a budget and cook with seasonal local ingredients and make homemade foods.

We would be making delicious food each day to eat and share and learn skills. Here are some ideas of what we will make (menu to be finalized closer to dates):
- Italian homemade pasta and sauce with gelato
- Hungarian crepes
- Deluxe waffles
- Energizing smoothies
- Energy bites and cookies
- Summer Salads and Simple Vinaigrettes
- Homemade buns, butter and jam

Campers will learn about these topics:
- Where does food come from?
- How is food prepared?
- How healthy food promotes health and wellness
- What can be learned in the kitchen and garden
- What it means to be mindful in the kitchen, the garden and everyday
- Our camps build confidence and self esteem within each camper
- Increased life skills and creativity
- Enjoyment and pleasure of food
