New spring Kangatraining class series incoming! I'd love to meet you and your babies there!

What is Kangatraining?

πŸ’ͺ It's a full body workout designed from the ground up to be safe for your postpartum body and effective at regaining the strength you need. Cause parenting is an endurance sport.

πŸ‘ It's a great way to get your body moving, meet some new friends and bond with your baby. Babies are in carriers for the majority of the workout and usually have a great nap. I'm also a babywearing consultant trained with the Center for Babywearing Studies, so feel free to bring your carrier questions.

🌷 It's pelvic floor and diastasis recti safe. We take this really seriously in Kangatraining. We put a major focus on your pelvic floor health and strengthening and reconnecting your core.

If you wanna dance, come join us at Hawkes Martial Arts in Sapperton!

Tuesday March 26 - May 14 @ 11am
8 week course - $120+GST
4 class drop-in pack - $80+GST

That's a wrap on the winter series! All the best to my moms returning to work. It's been a really fun group of mobile babies! We'll be back at Hawkes on the 26th to kick off spring classes 🌷

The Reneti Model πŸŒΌπŸ’›πŸ™Œ

Introducing the "Reneti" carrier – a blend of modern design and timeless tradition, inspired by the nurturing spirit of African mothers. Just like the strong and loving women who carry their little ones with grace, our carrier allows parents to embrace the joy and unconditional love that comes with the beautiful journey of parenting.

Crafted to mimic the traditional African way of carrying babies, the Reneti model seamlessly combines modern technology with the age-old practice of keeping children close. Drawing from the wisdom passed down by my beloved mother, Reneti who carried us with care using her Mbereko or Chitenge or Kitenge, this carrier embodies the essence of responsive and loving parenting.

My mom, a devoted stay-at-home mom, lived by the principles of love, faith, and community. She taught me that life is about caring for others, especially those in need. Through her actions, she demonstrated the importance of being present in the village, whether at church, comforting the grieving, or sharing laughter through her jokes.

In her memory, the Reneti baby carrier is not just a product; it's a celebration of the legacy she left behind – a legacy of love, faith, and the joy found in caring for others. May this carrier inspire parents to create bonds, share laughter, and navigate the beautiful journey of parenthood with the same love that defined my mother's nurturing spirit.

Did you know that you can still come to Kangatraining if you have any pregnancy or birth injuries? Things like prolapse, abdominal separation, and pelvic floor dysfunction are all things we can easily work with and still give you a great workout without doing any further damage.

Kangatraining is designed for post partum bodies and our exercises are modified to keep you strengthening your bodies from the inside out.

Our trainers will help you to see whether you have diastasis recti (ab separation) and will work with you so you’re strengthening your core correctly.

We just ran my last Bear Creek Kangatraining class for the series and I’m kind of bummed it’s over until my fall series picks up in September. So I’m running a FREE class next week!

Saturday Aug 19 @ 11am at Bear Creek park

You can bring your stroller or favorite baby carrier to this class. We walk and do exercises for strength, endurance and pelvic floor. All exercises are safe for diastasis recti and postpartum bodies. I’m also a babywearing educator and will help you with fit checks if you bring your carrier 😊.

Come get moving with me! There is no cost for this class but registration is required. Head on over to kangatraining.ca and find my kangamix trial class for Bear Creek.

This is a great illustration of something we talk about a lot in kangatraining - your ribs, core and alignment!

Understanding your body’s spine positioning will make you become way more efficient in the gym and help prevent injuries!

Most everyone hyperextends their spine when living and lifting.

Picture on the right!

Maintaining a stacked core when lifting will help you lift more.

Breathing is key!

Exhaling on effort kicks into the internal rotator of the body which produce force.

Come try a free class and get feel the difference!

New fall classes are posted and open for registration!

You wanted more Bear Creek classes, you got it. I'm running another 4 part mini series in September. Classes will run Sept 9 to Sept 30 @ 11:00.

Queens park will be moving primarily indoors to Hawkes in Sapperton, but we'll mix it up with some outdoor time as weather permits.
Classes will run Sept 5 to Oct 24 @ 11:00

Ongoing classes still have room for drop-ins if you want to give it a try before committing to a series. We've got one more Bear Creek on Aug 12 and Queens Park is ongoing Tuesdays until Aug 22.

Let's do this! Check the link in the comments to register πŸ‘‡
