This semester, our senior TLC 123 students had the opportunity to participate in a 10-week Work Experience Placement, where they gained valuable vocational skills, built confidence, and experienced what it means to be part of a workplace team.
For many of our students, these placements represented much more than learning job skills. They were opportunities to develop independence, form new relationships, contribute to their community, and discover strengths they may not have known they had. We are so proud of everything they accomplished throughout this experience!
A heartfelt thank you to our community partners—Sharma’s Independent Grocer, Liv n’ Gracie’s, the Temiskaming Shores Public Library, and New Liskeard Public School—for opening your doors and creating meaningful, inclusive opportunities for our students. A special thank you to our workplace supervisors - Ms. Bonnie, Ms. Lisa, Ms. Alison, and Mrs. Phippen - whose kindness, encouragement, and belief in our students helped them grow in confidence and ability each week. ❤️
Finally, thank you to our TDSS placement supervisors, Ms. Kierra, Ms. Montminy, and Ms. Sylvie, whose dedication and support helped make these placements such a success.
Community partnerships like these make a difference. Thank you for helping our students learn and grow!
