Are you looking for a way to get involved at NGES? We are looking for Noon-Hour Supervisors to supervise students on the playground from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. daily. This is a paid position.

We are thrilled to share that we've installed some wonderful new signs around the school to celebrate and reinforce our Mission and Values!

As the image of our new sign states, NGES is committed to providing education in a welcoming, fair, and supportive environment, where we ensure "everyone has the right to be themselves, to feel safe, and to belong." A strong sense of belonging and well-being is fundamental to helping every child reach their full potential.

We are also proud to display beautiful signs promoting Indigenous Teachings and the vital message that EVERY CHILD MATTERS. These visuals serve as daily reminders of the respect, kindness, and bravery we strive to embody as a school community.

We invite all our families to take a moment to look for these new signs as you enter our building and walk the halls during Progress Conferences this week.

When: December 3rd (5:00 PM – 7:00 PM) and December 4th (1:00 PM – 3:00 PM)

NGES will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair during the week of December 1-5/25. The Book Fair will be open to the public during the Progress Conference Meetings on December 3rd from 5-7pm and December 4th from 1-3pm.

✨ Join the YMCA NS BAP Team as a Casual Substitute at NGES!

Do you love working with children and helping them strengthen their love for the outdoors? The YMCA of Southwest Nova Scotia is looking for Casual After School Program Staff (subs) to join our team at the New Germany Elementary School (NGES) site!

This is a rewarding role where you will help provide a fun, active, and safe environment for children from school dismissal until 5:30 pm on school days.

Transportation Updates:

School Bus Drivers Needed
SSRCE continues to face challenges with bus driver shortages, and we need your help! We are actively recruiting new drivers to improve reliability for families. Training is provided, including Class 2B licensing and all required certifications—no previous experience needed. If you or someone you know is interested, please apply by October 27 to be included in our November training class. Current postings are available at www.ssrce.ca/employment. Thank you for helping us ensure safe, dependable transportation for all students.

Keep Your Address Up to Date

To ensure accurate bus routing and student transportation, it’s important that your child’s address in PowerSchool matches where you currently live. If you have recently moved, please contact your school office as soon as possible to update your address. This helps us avoid delays and ensures your child’s bus stop is correct.
