I’m doing 2 sets Friday at the Anchor Inn & Suites patio from 5:15-7:00 for the Campbell River Jazz and Blues festival. No cover charge, the restaurant will be serving food and beverages.
I’ll be playing a bunch of my Western Swing, blues and originals, new and old. I have narrowed it down to 3 instruments on stage.
Come see me do a solo show! (this is a VERY rare thing… also watch me sweat bullets as I sing and play fiddle at the same time not once but TWICE)

Hello Wonderful Humans,
I'm thrilled to announce an upcoming series of music events that I'll be hosting and participating in over the next few months. Whether you're interested in joining a music class, attending a concert, or participating in workshops, there's something for everyone.
Folk Harmonic Orchestra (All Levels, All Instruments)
Our new term of the Folk Harmonic Orchestra begins TOMORROW, May 1st, at Comox United Church from 7:00 PM to 8:45 PM. This 8-week session will focus on a crash course in Jazz & Swing music, and no prior experience in playing this genre is necessary. We'll also explore instrumental solos and enjoy three-part harmony singing. The sliding scale fee is $130-$180.
She & They, Concert at Tin Town cafe
Mark your calendars for June 6th! Join us at Tin Town Cafe for an evening of acoustic folk-roots music featuring Gina Davis & Ali Romanow. Doors open at 7:00 PM, and the show starts at 7:15 PM. Tickets are $20 at the door or reserve your spot via e-transfer to [email protected].
Music Workshops
I'll also be teaching at several music workshops:
May 25th: Nanaimo Ukulele Festival (https://www.nanukefest.com)
June 7-9: Georgia Straight Music Camp (http://gsmusiccamp.ca)
August 26-30: SongRoots Summer Camp (https://songroots.ca)

Covid -19 Cancellation
Hello everyone,
We hope that you have been keeping safe and healthy during these very challenging times. It is with heavy hearts that we have had to make the call to cancel Beyond Trad 2020 Summer Camp.
This is not a decision we made lightly, but we believe it is in the best interest of all involved to not gather in consideration of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Starting Monday April 6, 2020 we will be issuing a refund via etransfer to everyone that is currently registered, but we are hopeful that if you are able and willing to donate a portion we would pass those funds directly to our fabulous instructors & camp staff. Any amount would help. These artists are being hit hard with the cancellation of gigs, workshops and the drastic changes in the reality of teaching music. Anything that we can do to help keep these folks afloat and creating their art is greatly appreciated.
Most of all we hope that you all have folks that you can connect with to keep you grounded. Reach out to your musical friends, start a tune challenge. Build common repertoire so that when it is safe for us to gather, we will all have more tunes to play together. Keep the thread of our beautiful music community strong.
Be patient with yourselves too, know that it this is a time of transition, and so if you don’t feel like doing anything but watch Youtube videos, then allow yourself that space. Given time and freedom, that creativity will flow on its own. Don’t worry if the muse doesn’t come knocking on your door right away, she’s being called on by many people in this moment.
Keep playing, music heals the spirit.
We will see you when the dust settles.
Until that time, take care friends,
Ali & Wendy
