Whoohoo! Introducing Arcadia - the new Quiltworx 2027 Technique of the Month! I will be doing classes in my studio - 2 consecutive days per month likely starting Feb or March 2027 (Bowser, Vancouver Island). A great way in for beginners. Small classes and lots of time. And ... for experienced Quiltworx quilters, a 7 night retreat at Honeymoon Bay, Vancouver Island, at the beginning of April!

Another fabulous retreat came to an end last Friday - and as usual, my social media person is behind in posting anything (that would be me in the absence of my bff Heather's Fabric Shelf. What a wonderful group of women! Many belly laughs, and much was achieved. This was our show and tell. And I must take ownership of the fact that I forgot to remind everyone until after some had already left home ... 😖😂

Well, we had a marvelous retreat at Honeymoon Bay! We had experienced quilters, working on Vintage Rose, plus a few other projects in the room. And we had three newbies to Quiltworx working on Pop Star. They all did great! I am notoriously bad at taking photos during the retreat, as I am pretty busy running around the room, but here is our show and tell.

Something a little different! I've just finished this Elizabethan Moth. It was a kit from my hubbie for Christmas, from The Crewel Work Company based in the UK. It was a new kind of handwork project for me - gold work! And yes it was a challenge. The whole thing is about 5". It's not perfect - it will be flatter once it's framed. I went to school with the lady that founded this company!

Finally, I can share! A beautiful new collection from Lumin Fabrics Island Batiks, from the Spring / Summer 2026 catalogue. I loved making this! This signature collection is called Songbird, and is by Jerry Khiev for Jennifer Thomas of Curlicue Creations. The pattern is a 2015 Technique of the Month called Vintage Rose from Quiltworx.com Seriously, the photos don't do this fabric justice - it is gorgeous!

A cute little finish - not my colours, but made as a wall hanging to hang in my son and daughter-in-law's log home to match the curtains. This is the Popstar, 50" x 50", and a VERY different look to the pattern cover (also shown below). Just shows how much of a difference fabric choices make! I will be teaching this one in April at several retreats, so nice to make a sample with a purpose.
