Today, we pause to reflect on the lasting impacts of residential schools and honour the strength, resilience, cultures, and enduring contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.
At Safer Ocean Systems, we feel incredibly fortunate to work alongside so many coastal Nations and communities throughout British Columbia. From the traditional territories of the Cowichan peoples in the Salish Sea to Haida Gwaii on the North Coast, we have the privilege of traveling and working through Indigenous territories that have been stewarded since time immemorial.
Along the Inside Passage and throughout our work on the coast, we are guests in the territories of many Nations, including Cowichan, Snuneymuxw, Homalco, Klahoose, Wei Wai K*m, We Wai Kai, K’ómoks, Kwakwaka’wakw Nations, Heiltsuk, Nuxalk, Wuikinuxv, Kitasoo Xai’xais, Gitga’at, Haisla, Gitxaała, Metlakatla, Ts’msyen (Tsimshian) peoples, Nisga’a, and Haida Nations, among others. These Nations have cared for these lands and waters for thousands of years and continue to shape the future of our coast. 
Today is a day to listen, learn, reflect, and continue the work of reconciliation. We are grateful for the relationships we have built and remain committed to fostering respect, understanding, and meaningful partnerships with Indigenous communities throughout the coast we are privileged to call our workplace.🧡
