Paying it forward, one stitch at a time ... This year, Grade 9 and 10 students can participate in a service block, a dedicated time to give back and serve both our local and global communities. One of these student groups has launched a textile service, using their sewing, knitting, and crocheting skills to bless those in need. They are already overflowing with incredible ideas, including:
🌟 Dresses for the international organization Dress A Girl Around the World
🌟 Toques, gloves, and blankets for the Salvation Army and Centre of Hope
🌟 Stuffed animals & baby blankets for the NICU, Haven Society, and Crossroads Pregnancy Centre
But before the crafting could begin, they had to master the basics. There was so much excitement in the room recently as students learned how to use a sewing machine, practicing straight lines, mastering turns, and even tackling circles.
🙌 A heartfelt thank you.. to our incredible Grandparents Group for their generous donation of sewing machines! Because of your kindness, every student has their own machine to practice on (including a brand-new one recently delivered!). Your support means the world to us.

To bring these heartwarming projects to life, our students need materials. If you have any fabric or yarn tucked away in your closets that you would be willing to donate, we would be grateful to take it off your hands!
