JGW Living We provide residential and community inclusion services for adults with developmental disabilities in Nanaimo and Parksville. At J. Garnons Williams Ltd.

we provide high quality, supportive residential and day programs which offer adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to participate in, enjoy and be a part of, their communities. We currently operate resources in both Nanaimo and Parksville, which are providing opportunities for people to live in safe, healthy environments and access community recreational activities and gain assistance with vocational placements – based on each individual’s needs, wishes and aspirations. Since 1994 we have been providing supportive, inclusive programs that focus on the wishes and best interests of the residents, program participants and their support networks. Wherever possible we encourage and promote individuals in care and their families to be involved in setting goals, making decisions and planning to improve the individuals’ quality of life and their relationships.

💙 A Little Look at Life at FOCUS! 💙

We’ve got a whole bunch of photos to share from the last couple of months at our FOCUS Day Program, and they’re a pretty great reminder that quality of life is often found in all the little moments.

From getting out into the community and spending time with animals, to activities, laughter, friendships and simply enjoying each other’s company, there’s been lots going on!

For the people we support, meaningful days look different for everyone. Sometimes it’s trying something new, sometimes it’s connecting with an animal, getting out into the fresh air, sharing an experience with friends, or just doing something that brings a really big smile.

At FOCUS, it’s about creating opportunities for connection, choice, participation and FUN — because all of those things contribute to a full and happy life.

Here’s a little photo dump of what our FOCUS crew has been getting up to lately. ❤️

And judging by some of these smiles… we’d say they’ve been having a pretty great time! 😊

🏡 Welcome to Mountainview, Lorne! 🏡

We’re so excited to officially introduce the newest member of our Mountainview family — Lorne!

Lorne joined us on August 18, coming to Nanaimo from the Duncan community, and he has already been an absolute breath of fresh air in the house. He brings plenty of laughter, a whole lot of personality, and one of those smiles that can pretty much melt your heart. ❤️

Lorne is a super cool dude who loves music, dancing, crafts, getting out into the community, and — very importantly — a good Tim Hortons coffee! ☕🎶🕺

As he settles into his new home, we’re looking forward to helping Lorne build connections here in Nanaimo, make some new friends, and discover all the people, places and activities that can become part of his new community.

We can’t wait for everyone throughout the JGW agency to meet him and get to know the wonderful guy we’re already so lucky to have around.

Welcome home, Lorne! We’re so happy you’re here. 💙
