Lung10 is the Fire within Metal point in Five Element theory.Â
It is used to clear excess heat from the Lung Meridian, when there is coughing with yellow phlegm, reduces fever, eases rapid breathing, and it calms the Shen from anxiety, anger, fear, grief, and distress.
It helps warm the Spirit (Shen) with the reminder of Joy when feeling a physical cold and/or any Spiritual distance. It can help re-center and uplift you.
Curl your middle finger into the central midpoint of the palmar heel mound of the thumbline.
Press into the underside of the bone where you feel tenderness to activate the deqi.
Gently hold and breathe into the point 1-2min. Both sides.Â
Repeat a few times a day, as needed, until you feel a shift in symptoms, and/or a sense of ease, with the energy flowing smoothly again.Â

Try CV-2 with LU-7 and KI-6.
Urinary Incontinence Symptoms Alleviated
Kidney 6 (Illuminated Sea) is located by positioning the foot at 90 degrees. Locate the peak of the inner anklebone, slide straight down about 1 finger width, and then press slightly towards the Achilles tendon. Your finger may feel a vertical notch at this point.

WINTER - WATER
Silence, Willpower, Trust, Courage & Wisdom
These first three weeks of December are a gift of the dark.
The beginning of winter is a time for hibernation. These weeks are for quiet, for reflection, for stillness, calm, tranquility, healing, and most of all for: Stop, and Rest.
This is a time to unwind; to be a hibernating bear; to close the drapes and burrow under the covers; to close your eyes and âsleep, perchance to dream.â Take this opportunity to pause and go inside yourself and ruminate. You will be glad that you took this time, as it builds up your energy reserves for the rest of the year.
The dark is the magical time of the year; a time of letting go and surrender as well as a time of germination and mystery. December is a time of gestation in the womb of Mother Earth. Take a deep breath, go into the dark and embrace the silence.
Take the time to LISTEN: listen to your thoughts; to the sounds of family or friends in your bubble gathered around the table; to the sounds of silence when the snow falls; to the gleeful sounds of childrenâs laughter as they play in the outdoors; to the sounds of the birds etc. TRUST by being in the present, knowing that when the Spring element begins to call for action that you will be able to respond. This is not a time for making decisions â that will come in the Spring with sufficient REST.
Canadian Acupressure College wishes everyone a wonderful rest, safe and enjoyable times with loved ones and âinner contemplationâ to replenish your yin during this upcoming holiday season.

LU-7 is one of the most powerful points on the Lung Meridian
What it Does? It is used for stopping a persistent cough and relieving a sore throat. Iâve also seen the point clear up a nagging cough that has been âhanging in thereâ for months.
Have you attended the symphony or opera or play and then there is a moment of silence? Suddenly, you have the urge to cough! Use LU-7 and it will stop it immediately.
In general, because it âreleases the exteriorâ, it is excellent for showing invading pathogens (such as colds and viruses) the way out of the body.
LU-7 improves circulation in the brain and stimulates memory, therefore helps to relieve brain fog.
How to Locate? With the inside of your wrist facing upwards, measure 3 fingers from the wrist crease, using your 4th, 3rd and 2nd with the 4th finger at the wrist crease, just below the thumb. LU-7 is where the 2nd finger lands, on the elbow side of the bony protuberance (styloid process) on the radial bone. Press gently towards the wrist.Â
How to Use? For a cough hold the point until the cough subsides or if you feel a cough âcoming on.â For other usage, the point may be held a couple of times a day.

As we move into early winter, this is a deeply important time to rest, reflect and gather our energies.
At the same time, it is important to keep up some form of daily exercise such as a walk outside or Tai Chi. Movement stimulates our Lungs and Large Intestines, so it is vital for ensuring that we are staying healthy through the process of deep breathing. Breathing not only activates the Lungs but also circulates good healthy chi through the organs so can also be helpful for constipation if we are " feeling blocked up" in the Large Intestines.
Did you know that it is the mixing of the air that we breathe in (called the Ta Chi) and the food that we ingest (called the Gu Chi) that creates our daily energy? This reinforces how important it is to breathe deeply and eat warming foods in harmony with the season.
Honor the change in yourself as you feel it stronger and stronger as the weeks go on. It is OK to rest; you will feel energized and enthusiastic again in the Spring.

Fall (Metal Element)
As Autumn leaves turn color and drop back into the earth their minerals gradually provide a rich bed of nutrient soil for a new cycle of future growth.Â
Fall is the season of Letting Go and Letting Come. It is the Yang letting go into Yin, and the Yin Letting Come what will be in the season of slowing down and Rest.Â
In the Chinese theory, our bodies mirror Nature's cycles and our Let Go-Let Come organs are seen in the Large Intestine (LI; Yang) and the Lung (LU; Yin). Each of these meridians continually takes Qi in, transforms and releases it.Â
In this Metal Element season, our core Let Go-Let Come emotion is Grief. We feel it move through our LU and LI meridians especially, as they are responsible for moving this Qi.Â
In balance, this Qi can generate feelings of satisfaction, acknowledgment, and respect for Self and others.Â
Imbalanced, this Qi can stagnate into chronic complex grief, unreleased nostalgia, fixed rigid thinking and communicating, or degrees of shutting-down.Â
Grief arises from sorrow and loss from external events but also from letting go what no longer serves us, or old versions of ourselves. Letting Go can strip us bare but, as we do, we become receptive to the pure and the new, granting us a vision of who we are in our essence.
Meeting Grief in a healthy acknowledgement and flow, Letting Go merges with Letting Come, which gives rise to renewed self-worth as one also recognizes and honors the unique and priceless contribution that each of us makes to the Universe. Each of us has that special gem to offer to humanity.Â
Where are you in your season of Letting Go - Letting Come this Autumn?
