Last Thursday we had such a great event at Toastmasters with our first "Table Topics Challenge." Jane Hamilton was our Toastmaster for the day, and of course, the event was put together under the direction of Michael Kazyss, our director of education.
'Table Topics' is a portion of our weekly Toastmasters program in which individuals volunteer to answer a question and provide an impromptu answer, typically within one minute. Our participants included 'Levi Larkin Boyle, Jason Ridout, Rajan Manhas, and Gwynne Martin.'
We are excited to announce our winners: Jason Ridout, second place, and Gwynne Martin, first place!! Congratulations to you both, and thank everyone who made this a successful and fun event!

Next Thursday, October 3rd, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., we are hosting an open house for anyone who wants to learn more about Toastmasters. Toastmasters is the perfect tool to help fine-tune your speaking abilities so that your important message is delivered clearly and professionally. I am going into my second year with Toastmasters, and I think it is one of the best investments you can make.

“Storytelling is perhaps the most impactful way to bridge cultural gaps, and Toastmasters speeches allow us to share our personal experiences and stories, enabling others to gain a deeper understanding of our backgrounds.” —Toastmaster Shubhani Mittal

I've been a member of Toastmasters for almost a year, and it has been a great experience. Most of us are afraid of public speaking, but we may all be asked to do it at some point in our lives. Even if your goal is not to be a public speaker, learning how to develop your thoughts into coherent ideas is invaluable. The first few visits are free!
