What a great Open House!

Today’s Harbour City Toastmasters Open House was a huge success, and it really did tick all the boxes for what we hoped to accomplish.

A big thank you to our Executive Team for organizing such a fun meeting, to our awesome members who showed up to support, participate and welcome our guests, and especially to the amazing guests who joined us! ❤️

Our goal was simple: to create a fun, friendly and inviting space where people could come check out what Toastmasters is all about, experience it for themselves and see if it might be a good fit.

And that’s exactly what happened!

We welcomed many first-timers who came to explore, learn more and even step outside their comfort zone with some impromptu speaking. 👏

Our Keynote Speaker, Michael, delivered a fantastic six-minute speech, “On the Verge of a Breakthrough,” which gave us lots to think about.

Our guests also had the opportunity to participate in Table Topics, and we even handed out awards for Best Table Topics Speaker, Best Timekeeper and a special prize for the members who brought guests along. 🏆

Lots of participation, lots of laughs, lots of encouragement… and lots of new friendly faces!

Thank you to everyone who helped make today such a success. We hope to see many of our guests back again soon. 😊

Small Talk, Big Laughs & Another Great Toastmasters Meeting! 🎉

We had another fun and engaging meeting today at Harbour City Toastmasters, and our theme was Small Talk!

We explored the good, the bad, the comfortable and sometimes downright uncomfortable moments that come with making small talk. There was humour, curiosity, great stories, lots of laughter and plenty of conversation!

And of course, we celebrated some special moments with a few awards, including:
🏆 Best Table Topics Speech
⏱️ Closest to the 1-minute mark
🎉 And a very special award for surviving a first-ever Toastmasters meeting! 👏🏼

Because that’s what we love about Toastmasters… you can come as you are, give something new a try, have some fun and leave a little more confident than when you arrived.

What a fun meeting at Harbour City Toastmasters! ☠️🏴‍☠️

Our “Pirates at the Podium” theme brought plenty of laughs, creativity, and a few great pirate accents too! From clever table topics to inspiring speeches, it was another reminder of how much growth can happen when we step outside our comfort zone and simply have fun with it.

A big thank you to everyone who came out and brought such great energy to the room. Whether you were speaking, evaluating, or cheering others on, every meeting is a chance to learn, connect, and build confidence together.
