When you're learning about something cool, then class on your day off is easy! Our first and second year classes took part in a lecture on parks planning as part of the Urban and Regional Studies Certificate Program! This Certificate is offered as part of the MCP program.

Two of our Students, Bronwyn and Stephanie, took part in the Canadian Parks Planning Conference in Quebec City last week! There was some learning involved even with all the fun fall activities.

Some of the Graphic Design projects that our students checked out last month made their way to Nanaimo City Council the other day! It's always great to see students from across VIU take their projects out into the community.

NANAIMO — A fresh pair of eyes has brought new ideas about how to revitalize downtown Nanaimo. A group of VIU graphic design students, known as ACE Nanaimo, developed a project to bring colour and events to the downtown.

A big thanks to the Regional District of Nanaimo for inviting MCP students to help facilitate an engagement session at the 2nd annual Symposium on Water Stewardship in a Changing Climate! This is one of the many opportunities that students have to get real-world experience.
