Sensory play is a truly magnificent way for children to explore, learn, and interact with new materials!

During our potion making experience, children were developing their fine motor skills through stirring, squeezing, and scooping. They explored how colours mix together, what happens to different objects in the water, and more!

So many discoveries to be had through children’s play✨

A Week of Sensory Exploration 👐✨

This week in one of our I/T programs, the children explored a new sensory experience each day. There was squishing, scooping, pouring, mixing, and yes… a joyful bit of mess along the way.

Each activity sparked curiosity and those “I wonder what happens if I try this?” moments that bring learning to life.

Sensory play supports so much development. As children explore different materials, they’re building fine motor skills, strengthening language through shared ideas and descriptions, and practicing problem-solving as they test and try new things.

It’s learning through touch, movement, and play.

And of course, a little mess just means a lot of learning 💜

We currently have full-time and part-time preschool availability at our Northfield Road and Wesley Street locations.

Know a family looking for preschool care? If they register and provide your name at the time of enrolment, both you and the enrolling family will receive a $100 Woodgrove Centre Gift Card.

You do not need to have a child currently enrolled with us to make a referral—current families, past families, and members of our community can all participate.
