Bloom Family Child Care is a licensed family child care home that is set up to resemble and function like center-based childcare. I provide a nurturing space with small group numbers so your child will get the attention they deserve in order to help them thrive. It is the perfect opportunity to introduce children to a more structured routine so they will be able to adapt to a daycare or kindergarten, all while providing them with the socialization they need at this young age. I am a certified Level IV Early Childhood Educator (ECE), of 15 years, who is a dedicated advocate for Early Childhood Education. I also served on the board for the Human Resource Sector Council for Early Childhood Educators; where together we worked toward quality childcare. I had the pleasure of having the majority of my career take place in a small daycare, located downtown, in which I was able to work with consistent groups of children and staff for up to 4 years at a time. I later served as Assistant Director for the company, in addition to being lead staff in the Preschool room (ages 3-5), and later had the opportunity to become lead staff in the mixed age group (2-3 years). While we waited to have children join our room, I was often a single staff caring for a group of seven 2-3-year-olds. It was during this time that I realized how important that one-on-one time is for children when they are developing at this age. In a small amount of time, I saw their skills emerge, develop and enhance. In this type of consistent, nurturing environment, of different age groups, we were all able to learn so much together and from each other; about life, relationships, and the importance of patience. This is when my career began to steer toward Family Childcare. I am devoted to providing children with the best quality of care; where families and childcare providers can come together so that every single child feels as though they are leaving one loving home and entering another.
