Despite double gates and double doors everywhere, on occasion Hank’s escape plans are successful. This time Nan was in on it! A brief moment to smell the flowers before they could eat the flowers, and back in they went. They do look sweet on the other side of the barn fence, but not all plants are safe to eat 😬💕

Heavy rain and even tornado warnings today around Southern Ontario. Glinda is sounding the alarm - hope everyone can stay dry and safe! So far it’s just a rather blah looking day around here 🤍🐈

For those of you who do not know Glinda, she appeared at the edge of our forest in 2017 … pregnant. She chose our barn as a safe place to have her babies and has never left - neither have her babies! All spayed and neutered now, they are our deeply loved barn cats - and unofficial/official greeters to all who visit! You just have to double check your backseat before you go as they like to curl up there if they can get in 🤣

Our family friend, Zevi, has been coming to see Hank every summer for 8 or so years now - and this summer it lined up that he came and celebrated his birthday with Hank! Love that Hank and many of the other animals here are part of conversations and plans and good memories! Friendship isn’t defined by species 🤍

Estelle 🤍 Queen of the barn, Daughter of Glinda of the Forest (a pregnant stray who appeared at the edge of our little forest in 2017 and chose our barn to have her babies … they never left 🫶)

Unlike her siblings, Michael & Philip, Estelle does not venture beyond the perimeter of the barn area itself … does she go UP? Yes 🤣 yes, she does!

Due to her colouring and size, she’s been mistaken a few times for a cute raccoon. She’s very selective about who she makes an appearance for. Even if you’ve never seen her, she’s definitely seen you. We aren’t entirely sure what’s on her list when it comes to making an appearance though as everyone who visits is an awesome human!
