Join us for Middlesex’s OFA Regional Meeting Thursday September 3rd!

The purpose of the OFA Regional Meeting is to elect OFA positions in Middlesex County – 3 OFA Policy Advisory Council Members, 9 OFA AGM/Convention Delegates and Alternates. Current eligible OFA Members residing in the Middlesex OFA Region are eligible to nominate, run for and elect these positions.

OFA AGM takes place Nov 24th & 25th, 2026.

For more detailed information about these positions, and your eligibility - please contact OFA MSR Karen McLean at [email protected] or 519-918-4470.

If you wish to nominate an OFA Member for a position and cannot attend the OFA Regional Meeting, the person you nominate must agree in writing to being nominated, and their written agreement must be sent to the OFA MSR Karen McLean by September 1st.

This past weekend MFA held a FUNspiel at the Glencoe Curling Club. Lots of fun, friendship and food was enjoyed by all! OFA members from Lambton, Kent, Elgin and Huron joined in on the festivities too!

The Middlesex Federation of Agriculture Politician Forum brought together representatives from 8 area commodity groups to discuss the impact of their sectors and outline key opportunities and challenges facing the agricultural industry. The session featured local MP Lianne Rood, along with MPPs Rob Flack and Steve Pinsonneault. Officials representing 4 local municipalities were also in attendance.

Discussion focused on several shared priorities, including the upcoming CUSMA negotiations, access to skilled labour, improvements to the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, increased processing capacity and the need for enhanced rural infrastructure. Representatives emphasized how these issues directly impact farm operations, competitiveness, and long-term sustainability within the region.

Feedback from attendees highlighted the forum as a valuable opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue with elected officials, strengthen relationships and gain a broader understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing different commodity groups across Middlesex County.
