Our Social Studies group is learning all about symbols, landmarks & maps as they explore our local community. Interested in trying out our homeschool workshops but not yet ready to commit to a whole season? We are offering a drop-in option during our Thursday afternoon homeschool workshop from 12-3! Simply… 1. Fill out a registration form on our website (you only have to complete this step once and then we’ll keep it on file for each drop-in) 2. Send us an email anytime up to the night before the morning you would like to drop-in. Include the name of your child and the date you are selecting. 3. Send us an e-transfer for $24 Then drop-off your child with our experienced educators at our indoor space for some hands-on learning in nature! #handsonlearning #exploreoutdoors #homeschoollife

The puddle jumpers were out in full force during our after school Explorers Club on Friday! Swipe to see some of our adventures ➡️➡️➡️ We observed the changing water levels in the creek and the slugs on the sidewalk, and we tried to make the biggest splashes in the biggest puddles! We also noticed that we needed to slow down and step extra cautiously in some of the usual places we like to climb because the rain made the paths more slippery. #nosuchthingasbadweather #rainyday #forestschool

The Sprouts enjoy visiting “teetor-totter tree” each morning! Swipe to learn why they call it that ➡️➡️➡️ It is so special to see one of our guiding principles at play here! As children engage in regular sessions in the same outdoor space, they develop a sustained and reciprocal relationship with the land and see themselves as a part of the natural world. This is no longer just a fallen tree that people walk past to get to a playground. Instead it has become our playground. We stop to observe the changes in the size of the fungi and number of leaves that have fallen around it each day. We find the best spots to place our feet and grip with our hands as we practice cautiously climbing. We respectfully observe the living things who call this place their home and express concern when we find litter near our beloved tree. 🌳 #forestschool #natureschool #mordenmb

The creek has been a highlight for the after school Explorers this week. We have observed so many different creatures who call this place home! These 4 Explorers discovered a new path down to the creek on Friday. This was much steeper than our usual route! They were determined to explore this side of the creek and immediately put their problem solving to work to find a safe way down and back up! #grootoutdoors #forestschool #natureschool #exploreoutdoors #childhoodunplugged #mordenmb
