DESCRIPTION
Morden Collegiate Institute is looking for two friendly, energetic and responsible individuals to fill Cafeteria Worker positions (one permanent position and one term position). The work schedule is based on students’ attendance, up to 25 hours per week. Work shifts will be scheduled between 8:30am and 1:30pm, Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate will be required to prepare and serve quality, nutritious foods. They will also adhere to standardized recipes and specifications, keep work stations clean and organized including fridges/freezers, countertops and grill, and keep overproduction and food waste to a minimum by ensuring proper rotation, labelling, and storage of food.
The successful candidate must possess a valid Food Handlers Certificate and have commercial food service experience. They should demonstrate efficient and courteous customer service and have the ability to handle cash, make change, and operate a Point-of-Sale (POS) system. Knowledge of safe work procedures related to kitchen equipment and supplies is required. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The candidate must also be able to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. Familiarity with School Nutrition Guidelines would be considered a strong asset.
The position involves regular interaction with students and staff and requires the ability to stand for extended periods while performing repetitive tasks. The successful candidate may also be required to perform periodic lifting and work with knives and other sharp kitchen equipment as needed.

Western School Division is looking for responsible and mature individuals to fill Educational Assistant (EA) positions for multiple locations within either the English Program or French Immersion Program.
The successful candidates will function under the supervision of a classroom teacher and/or resource teacher and will be responsible for assisting the work of teachers and clinicians by providing direct support to students. They will be responsible for assisting students at school in ways appropriate to each student's needs. Some responsibilities may include supporting students with their academic work. Other duties may include helping students with behaviour strategies and supports, physical and occupational therapy, personal hygiene supports, feeding/dressing/medication, health and other interventions. The EA will reinforce strategies/supports and expectations introduced by the teacher(s) and provide feedback to the supervisory teacher(s), following Western School Division's administrative procedures.
The successful candidates must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They must model a respectful and positive attitude, show enthusiasm for learning, and be compassionate and caring when working with vulnerable people. They must demonstrate patience, flexibility, ability to handle change and conflict, problem-solving skills, and organization and time management skills. Western School Division invites applications for the full-time permanent position of Health and Safety / Training Coordinator. Reporting to the Secretary-Treasurer and indirectly to the HR Manager, the successful candidate will support the Division in developing, implementing and maintaining Health and Safety programs, initiatives, safety training and procedures to ensure the Division complies with current Workplace Safety and Health regulations.
As the Co-Chair of the Divisional Workplace Safety and Health Committee, the successful candidate will coordinate meetings, maintain records, and lead incident investigations. They will coordinate and deliver safety training for staff such as First Aid, WHMIS, employee orientation, etc. and will identify any additional divisional training needs. They will possess (or acquire) any required trainer certifications and attend specific training related to the position.
The successful candidate will participate in divisional emergency preparedness including coordinating fire and lockdown drills, implementing emergency response procedures, and periodically reviewing emergency management plans. They will be a primary safety resource for staff, administrators and supervisors in the division and will support schools and departments in maintaining site-specific safety programs. They must be knowledgeable of the Health and Safety Regulations and Act and trends in the industry, including best practices and compliance with current laws. They will exemplify strong moral values, high standards of ethical conduct, a commitment to the Division's philosophy of education, and will demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, and administrative skills.
The ideal candidate will have post-secondary education or training in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field, complemented with 3-5 years of progressive experience in similar roles. A combination of relevant education and extensive experience leading successful organizational health and safety programs will also be considered. Recognized safety certification (e.g., CRSP, NCSO, or equivalent) is considered an asset. Experience working in the public sector is also considered an asset. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. They must be safety cautious and able to organize, implement and administer health and safety programs, and conduct workplace health and safety investigations. The successful candidate must possess strong communication skills in English. Experience with a variety of software applications or the proven ability to adapt to new programs is a strong asset, and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is required.
