Morden Family Resource Centre

In 1995, Dolly Parton started mailing books to children in her home county to inspire children to love reading in honor of her Dad, who couldn’t read or write.

That idea lives here too. Every month, 150 children in Morden find a book in the mailbox — because of neighbors who fund it, volunteers who run it, and a woman from Sevier County, TN who started it all.

Thank you, Dolly. We will always love you.

Our community really is amazing.

Today, we finished off our programs and the 2025-2026 program year. 'Music in Nature' wrapped up today. We found items in the park to make funny hairstyles and beautifully sounding wind chimes. Our little friends learned when to start and stop playing their instruments by listening and watching for cues. And they're pros at highs and lows too! Our friends were able to play multiple instruments each week, and they all have different favorites! Keep on singing, friends, and keep looking for music in nature. Have a great summer! We will see you in September. Our office will be open for one more week before closing for the summer.

Today Curious by nature finished up their program at the beach. Everyone was so excited for a day at the beach even the clouds didn’t dampen the fun! They went seashell hunting, played beach ball games, explored the water & sand and finished with parachute games.

Today we wrapped up 'Play is the way' with a Party day! We made mini cakes, party hats, played bingo, pin the tail on the donkey. Our little friends won LOTS of prizes!
