Hi, buddies! Ellise here. To some, I am a battle-worn n-BuLi handler who scales the perilous slopes of Rue University by day to chip away at silicon fluoride acceptors in the radiochemistry unit at the Neuro. To my humanities-degree parents, I’m just a chatterbox who won’t shut up about colorless liquids with really long names. Most importantly, I’m a sworn defender of Iowan corn, a diehard Trekkie, and your pipettor-in-arms, forever at your service. I’m always down to talk when you need a pal. Plus, I tell the worst chemistry puns—because all of the good ones argon!

We’ve been hyping it up all week and it’s finally here, our inaugural Battle of The Bands!! We’re gonna find out who rocks the hardest, student or teacher? We’ll have great performances by Soft Acid, our resident professor band and The Longest Year who will be repping the students. They’ll take the stage at 6:00PM, this Wednesday, September 25th. This will be a public show so completely free, and the first 50 chemistry undergrads who show up will get 1 free drink ticket. Feel free to bring plus ones, and we’ll see you soon at Coop BMP.

Lab gear is here! We’ll be selling lab gear Tuesday to Monday, september 3rd to 9th in Otto Maass basement! From 10 - 3 you can pick up preordered lab coats, goggles or both! We do not take cash so please pre order at the link in the qr code.

As this academic year draws to an end, CUSS would like to extend an invitation to all chemists and their friends to come and join us for an evening at Thomson House for our annual Chemiformal to celebrate this year and all that came with it. The event will take place on Thursday April 4th at 6pm, and will include a three course dinner, open bar and music.
