The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada (APF Canada) is conducting a study on the motivations for and experiences with learning Japanese and Korean among youth between from the ages of 18 to 34 in Montreal.

To that end, we are seeking participants to share their views through one-on-one interviews (duration: 45 to 60 minutes). Their participation will be kept confidential. The results of this study will inform APF Canada’s ongoing work in deepening and expanding Canadian engagement of Asia.

If you are currently studying Japanese or Korean from the ages of 18 to 34 and would like to participate, please fill out this short recruitment survey. https://forms.office.com/r/2C7NSPL44X Upon completion of the survey, our lead researcher will contact you within 1-2 days.

While there is no honorarium for your participation in the interview, your insights will help us better understand the perspectives of learners of Asian languages, and develop recommendations for how we might strengthen such language-learning opportunities in the future.

Thank you in advance for your interest and participation in this study.

How could we have a lingo buddies event without the language exchange part?

So of course our game night inevitably ended with some Mandarin and Arabic 101 :) And, even our monopoly game involved some lingo fun like counting steps in native languages.

Thanks for hanging out with us!

If you missed this one, we’re planning a picnic in April soon. So stay tuned :)
