🙏🏾
I had the privilege of presenting research from a SSHRC-funded project where I serve as the Head Research Assistant. Being part of Rehearsals for Change (RfC) has been such a powerful experience because it is composed of such brilliant people doing amazing things: this team continues to inspire me in so many ways. 🥹

I am deeply grateful to Dr. Mindy Carter, one of my PhD supervisors and the Principal Investigator of this project, for seeing something in me and entrusting me with this role. Thank you for making space for me to present at AERA 2026 and for guiding me with such care and intention.

This experience stretched me, affirmed me, and expanded my thinking in ways that feel truly life-changing. Your mentorship means more to me than I can fully articulate. Thank you for everything. 🙏🏾

Today (April, 2) is World Autism Awareness Day! 💃🏾

At STEM with Miss Sabi, we don’t support deficit-based narratives. 🙅🏾‍♀️

We celebrate the brilliance, creativity, and unique ways of thinking that autistic individuals bring into the world. 🙌🏾

Research shows that many autistic individuals demonstrate:

🧠 Exceptional attention to detail (often outperforming non-autistic individuals in visual search tasks)
🧩 Strong pattern recognition and systemizing abilities
🎯 Deep focus and sustained concentration (hyperfocus)
💡 Innovative problem-solving and original thinking
🗣️ Honest, direct, and clear communication styles
📚 Strong memory, especially in areas of passion and interest

These are not “deficits.” 🙅🏾‍♀️
These are strengths. 💪🏾

Autistic minds are not broken: they are different, powerful, and necessary. 🫶🏾

Today (and every day), we move beyond awareness and toward appreciation, acceptance, and celebration. 🥳🤗

💙 Accept. Understand. Celebrate.

Rational Expressions can feel confusing at first, but once you understand the patterns, everything starts to make sense.

In this new video, I break down what rational expressions are, how to simplify them, and the key things you need to watch out for when solving problems.

If you’re studying Grade 9 / Secondary 3 Math or reviewing for exams, this video will help you build confidence step-by-step.

I would like to thank the Centre for Integrative Anti-Racism (CIARS) at OISE for giving me the opportunity to present my work at their 13th Annual Decolonizing Conference. 🙏🏾

I was looking forward to attending the conference in person, but it conflicted with my obligations as a teacher🥺. I am very grateful that they made it possible for me to present online.🙌🏾

The session was incredibly engaging, and I received thoughtful and valuable feedback that I will apply to my work. I am grateful for the opportunity to share ideas, learn from others, and continue growing in this important work.

The final day of the conference is tomorrow, and I highly encourage people to attend if they can. Dr. Bettina Love will be speaking, and it promises to be an incredibly powerful session.

I made a new video everyone! 🎥

In this video, I walk you through Systems of Linear Equations (Grade 9) and show you how to find the point where two equations meet. Once you understand the logic behind it, solving systems becomes so much easier.

If you’re studying for a test, reviewing for class, or helping your child with homework, this lesson will guide you step by step.

Learning math is about building confidence one concept at a time. You’ve got this. 💜

Today we honor the women who came before us and the women who continue to show up for us today. 💜

The trailblazers who cleared paths where none existed.
The women who spoke up when it was difficult.
The women who organized, advocated, nurtured, protected, and liberated us. 🙌🏾🕊️

Because of you, we stand here today.

And to the women who are still doing the work right now.

The mentors.
The teachers.
The mothers.
The sisters.
The community builders.
The friends who pour into us consistently.

We see you.
We appreciate you.
We celebrate you. 🫶🏾

Because of the women before us, we have a foundation.
Because of the women beside us, we have strength.
Because of the women rising behind us, the future is powerful.

Today we pay homage to you all.

Happy International Women’s Day.

With love, care, and gratitude,

On Monday, January 26, I braved a snowstorm to be a guest speaker at Black Girl Magic’s first “Shine & Rise” Junior Edition, where I shared my passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) with girls in Grades 5 and 6.💜

You all know that this is not my first time being a guest speaker, but this event hit me differently. Tears filled my eyes on numerous occasions.🥹

The audience was not only made up of Black girls, but what stood out most was the confidence and pride the Black girls showed when they spoke: they knew it was their time. It was also incredibly powerful to witness the non-Black girls hold space for them and acknowledge why events specifically created for Black girls are so necessary.🙏🏾

I often say, “representation matters,” but on Monday, I truly witnessed and felt in my soul why representation matters.🥹

I would like to thank Shari Waldrich (the heart, soul, and brain behind Black Girl Magic Canada) for inviting me on this journey, and my girl Corbie for joining us on this adventure. 🫶🏾
It was unforgettable and truly unmatchable. IT WAS BLACK GIRL MAGIC! 💫👩🏾‍🔬
