From February 2nd to February 7th 2025, the HEGP Foundation, represented by President Naomi Kramer and "Gedenkdienst" Intern Maximilian Gottmann, had the honour to conduct their workshop, "Mis and Disinformation: Down the Rabbit Hole" at the local Indigenous high school in Kuujjuaq (Nunavik, QC).
It was gratifying to work with these young and committed students in northern Quebec. We were fortunate to have been warmly welcomed by educators and students alike and are grateful for the introduction to Inuit life and culture.
Thank you so much for your invitation. We look forward to the next chapter of our relationship.

I am deeply honoured to have received the Austrian Holocaust Memorial Award. This recognition is not just a personal milestone, but a profound reminder of the importance of memory, education, and vigilance in the face of historical atrocities. Together, let us ensure that the legacy of the Holocaust endures, and that the words "never again" are not just spoken, but lived, and that we carry forward the torch of remembrance, education, and hope.

Last week's Symposium at Vanier College was a great success! We invite you to take a look at some of the speakers who spoke about important issues the world currently faces. Our own two Gedenkdieners Gabriel Steinberger and Leo Wurmbrand hosted a talk about misinformation and disinformation and the dangerous consequences of fake news. Check it out!
"Misinformation and Disinformation: Down the Rabbit Hole" was generously funded by the Jewish Community Foundation in Montreal. Reach out to use if you have any questions or comments, or would like to book a presentation in your school!

The Holocaust commemoration service at Vanier College on April 10th was an inspirational, moving and emotional ceremony. In light of current events, tolerance and remembrance as shown in ceremonies like these are of the utmost importance.
We were honoured by the presence of many foreign dignitaries and local representatives of the Jewish community who gave powerful statements.
Thank you again to Vanier College and Toby Moneit for organizing and hosting this service as well as the week-long symposium on the Holocaust, genocide and extremism.

Yesterday we held two successful presentations at the Harold-Napper School. The presentation was generously funded by the Jewish Community Foundation of Montreal and we were joined by two Holocaust survivors, Ben Bicher and Esther Topaz. They shared their experiences with the classes and provided a very valuable perspective.

We are very happy to have completed several presentations at this week. The presentation was generously funded by the Jewish Community Foundation Montreal.
"The most valuable part of the experience was that our students got the chance to witness an act of reconciliation by peers not much older than themselves. The Holocaust education service component and sense of responsibility for atrocities in the past and duty to educate to prevent the repetition of such atrocities really impressed our students. They walked away with a clear understanding of misinformation and disinformation, as well as its potential risks. Concrete, real-life examples that were familiar to our students exemplified these risks and their devastating consequences. I’m confident that they will now think more critically about the information they consume and share."
