June is National Indigenous Peoples Month
Let's celebrate and strengthen our knowledge

Excellent info below

Every June, we celebrate Indigenous History Month by inviting people throughout Canada to learn about and reflect on the histories, cultures, languages, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples. It is also a time to recognize the resilience of Indigenous communities and the ways Indigenous people continue to lead, create, revitalize, and strengthen their cultures, Nations, and communities.

This Indigenous History Month, we invite you to continue learning and building stronger relationships grounded in respect, truth, and reciprocity. Here are just some of the ways you can participate:

* Find local cultural events on our website or through community centres
* Check out our YouTube Channel and Watch DWF LIVE conversations featuring Indigenous storytellers, artists, educators, and leaders: youtube.com/
* Read books by First Nations, Inuit, and Métis authors
* Visit our downiewenjack.ca for additional learning resources
