春联，chun (1st tone) lian(2nd tone), is another unique culture in Spring Festival. There is certain belief or worship of the power of knowledge in the form of Chinese characters. Different from western alphabets, characters can be used either to communicate with people from different regions and various dialects, or to define ancient secrets from the Nature.

春节，chun(1st tone) jie(2nd tone) = Spring Festival = the best known Chinese new year. 春 means spring, the first season in the year.
