Hi, we’re C2T2!😊Concordia’s design team in charge of 🛠️engineering and creating⚒️ a toboggan 🛷 with concrete skis to compete in the annual 🇨🇦Great Northern Concrete Toboggan Race!🏁 Join us at the next GNCTR in Edmonton, AB in Jan. 2027!🤩🔥 We are a team of dynamic, hard-working students preparing to compete in the upcoming 2025 edition of the Great Northern Concrete Toboggan Race (GNCTR) in Montrea

l. Its goal was to increase the involvement of students in extracurricular activities. Over the years, GNCTR has become one of the premier engineering student competitions in Canada and has expanded to include universities and technical institutes from across Canada, the United States as well as Europe. This project involves the student design and construction of a toboggan with a running surface made entirely out of concrete. It must satisfy a weight restriction of 300 pounds, be fitted with a roll cage for the safety of its five passengers, and have effective braking and steering systems. Concordia has a rich history of participating at this event, walking away with such awards as "Most Improved Team"," Most Spectacular Run", "Best Slab Design" and "The People's Choice". We have also received honorable mentions for lightest sled design, most creative team theme and most team spirit. We are in the process of preparing a very strong team of nearly 30 students to compete this coming February, and we are in the midst of designing and constructing our most ambitious toboggan yet. This year we will proudly be the first toboggan with a working suspension system. The competition consists of a technical presentation day and a race day. On race day, all the teams will be competing in a straight run, a slalom run and a head-to-head king of the hill tournament. Despite the seriousness of the day time competition, this is still an engineering event which means we get to have a little fun. Every school shows up with a different theme that they base all their activities around. This year our team will be sporting costumes, singing songs and hosting games all based on our theme (TBD). We are looking forward to this year's competition and we are very excited to show everybody our Lamborghini of a toboggan! For more information about the competition or team you can reach us at:
