Students at Dante Elementary had the opportunity to do steel pan drumming workshops with Salahpan!

"It was such a unique and exciting experience for students to learn a new instrument and learn about the history & culture of the steel pan."

The school shared: "Peter kept students skill level in mind and helped develop a project they could successfully complete. He created sketches and was available to discuss the project throughout the process. He is friendly and personable with the students."

Harold Napper School used their to do dance workshops with David Michel!

"David connected well with the students. He engaged them easily and made the experience really fun for the class. Music choices were great. His energy was awesome as well! Great time management."

Howick Elementary School had the opportunity to do an project with Montreal Steppers !

"The students were extremely engaged. They learned about racism and black culture in a welcoming, educational, engaging environment. The artists had excellent control and classroom management while keeping the atmosphere fun. "

The school had glowing feedback for this project: "Artist was extremely organized and with a few tables on our end and extra hands could transform the dedicated room into the studio required to accomplish the workshops very quickly. Students really enjoyed the workshop. Some of the grade 11 students are planning to apply the technique learned in their end of year photography project, they said they would have done days of this workshop. Students are all quite impressed with the final project that hangs in the school.

Her guidance and vision was spot on. Her communication skills are very efficient and the schedule was very clear. Any adjustments that were needed were done efficiently and with care."

ArtistsInspire provides opportunities for artists to connect with schools through funded grants and help students develop creativity while showcasing your professional practice.

Regional Artists are especially encouraged to apply! We're actively seeking artists living outside the Greater Montreal area to serve schools in their communities. We also strongly encourage applications from BIPOC, LGBTQ2S+, and underrepresented artists
