Indigenous Awareness Weeks 2025 is kicking off with the Pow Wow on September 19, 2025. The following week until September 30th will be filled with events and activities happening throughout McGill University.
This year's IAW theme is 10 years since the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRC) released their Final Report. It has been 10 years since Canada began their work towards reconciliation, many of which were for the educational sector of Canada. In response, McGill University came out with 52 Calls to Actions in 2017, put together by the Provost Task Force.
This year, our theme will ask questions of "Where are we now? What has happened since? What can we do moving forward?"
We hope you can join some of our events. They are open to everyone who's interested, however, priority will be given to McGillian's for some events.
