The Participatory Cultures Lab was established in 2010 by Dr. Claudia Mitchell in the Department of Integrated Studies in Education at McGill University.

The Participatory Cultures Lab is organized around the study and use of visual and other participatory approaches to research and social action, and involves the work of collaborators and research students engaged in the study of participatory research. Join the Participatory Cultures Lab for the GENDER TRAVELS exhibition launch event on Thursday November 20, 4:00-6:00 PM in the Learning Commons, McGill University Faculty of Education.

GENDER TRAVELS is part of the TRANSFORM Partnership Project and features photovoice work created and curated by young people in Canada, Malawi, Mali, Mexico, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Tanzania & South Africa, incorporating their reflections on gender in their communities.

Leading into the 16-Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, this exhibition challenges you to consider the concerns of young people from around the world while also reflecting on gender in YOUR classroom, on YOUR campus and in YOUR community.
