The International Literacy Day takes place every year on September 8. Its goals are to highlight the importance of literacy as a fundamental human right, raise awareness about illiteracy and low literacy, and promote more educated, fair and sustainable societies.

Ses objectifs sont de rappeler l’importance de l’alphabétisation comme droit humain fondamental, de sensibiliser le public aux enjeux de l’analphabétisme et de la faible littératie, et de promouvoir des sociétés plus instruites, justes et durables.
