NDG Music School is the region’s leading institution for ensemble-based learning. He completed his Bachelors of Education at McGill in 2012.

We provide a structured environment where kids, teens, and adults master their instruments through immersive, student-driven sessions coached by industry professionals. Our team of music educators has a diverse knowledge of instrumental & vocal performance, instrumental composition & songwriting, audio recording, and extensive teaching experience. They are passionate individuals with a strong inte

rest in furthering music education in the Montreal region.

Jonathan Stein

Jonathan Stein is a multi-instrumentalist, performer, composer and producer from Montreal who has been active for over thirty years. Jonathan is also a guitar and bass teacher with fifteen years of experience who has a DEC in music from Vanier and a BFA with a specialization in jazz studies from Concordia University. He has run his own one-man school of rock called 'It Came From The Garage!' since 2006, during which time he has put eighty-eight bands together and prepped them to perform at his annual Live From The Garage student shows. Sheila Veerkamp has been teaching music since 1990 with a focus on piano, theory and voice. With a BFA in Integrative Music Studies from Concordia University as well as a Diploma from Fanshawe College as a registered Mental Health Worker, Sheila has a great deal of experience working as a music specialist with various populations. In 2012, Sheila co-founded VOCAL EXPRESSION MONTREAL with colleague and friend Dawn Tyler Watson. Together they have facilitated and continue to offer group work that encourages participants to ﬁnd and celebrate their individual voice within a supportive group setting. In 2016, Sheila released an album of original material which she co-produced and recorded at her home in Montreal. Michael Fitch

Michael Fitch is a record producer, audio engineer, musician and teacher. Since then, Michael has also completed multiple production and mixing courses with Berklee Online and is one of 14 Avid Certified Pro Tools Experts in Canada.

For all those who were there, we hope you enjoyed last night’s show. It was epic! We were incredibly proud of all our students. All your hard work, dedication and love of music definitely shone through. We saw a lot of proud parents!

This Friday, dozens of musicians will feel exactly that — and step into the lights anyway. LFTG 24 is the 20th anniversary of Live From The Garage. From our Rock Band groups to private students playing their very first show, all ages take the same stage at The Wheel Club — in front of a room that’s there for one reason: to cheer them on.
