Mother seeking an experienced tutor to help 10-year-old twin boys.Ideal candidate would be a 3rd or 4th year student who is working towards a Bachelor or Master's in Education and is interested in helping grade 5 students. The subjects for tutoring and homework support will be for for grade 5 English Language Arts, Mathematics, and French for both boys.

Looking for a tutor who can start towards the end of August and continue through the academic year, 4 times a week. Preference will be given to someone willing to commit for longer term.

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 4:30-5:30, in-person at their home. Please note that there is a friendly dog in the home.

The DEEP Impact Internship Program provides students with practical opportunities to develop their skills in research and knowledge mobilization through work on a project supervised by a Department of Equity, Ethics and Policy (DEEP) faculty or associate member.

Selected interns work on their projects for 10 hours per week for 13 weeks, in addition to attending the weekly DEEP Impact Seminar Series where they will learn from experts across the full range of DEEP's faculty expertise and develop personal, academic, and professional skills. At the end of the semester, interns design and present a poster about their contributions to their project at the DEEP Student Poster Showcase.

Are you interested in learning more about enriching opportunities for students in youth exchange programs? Join our session with Eric Angen, a representative from Experiences Canada, to learn more about the value of youth exchanges and how to get involved!

Eric Angen is a retired elementary classroom teacher (Special Ed.) with 27 years of experience working with students with Severe Learning Disabilities in Montreal. He is deeply committed to student travel, especially for disadvantaged youth, having organized 14 seperate youth exchange projects. He has been a volunteer at Experiences Canada since March of 2020.

Experiences Canada (formerly SEVEC) is a national charitable organization funded by Heritage Canada. Its mandate is to provide travel funding for Canadian youth between 12-17 years of age to participate in reciprocal student exchanges throughout Canada. In this session, Eric will present the steps to follow to organize a successful exchange, sharing some of his own rich experiences taking learning beyond the walls of the classroom.

Countdown to Convocation! Meet Ryan Dvorak, Faculty of Education's valedictorian for this year's convocation. The Faculty's second valedictorian from the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, Ryan, who has earned his B.Sc. (Honours), will have a personal story to share with us and some words of wisdom the entire audience will be able to learn from. In an interview with the McGill Reporter, Ryan said support from family, professors and peers shaped both his academic and personal growth.

“Everything that I have achieved during my time in undergrad was with the help from my community at home and at McGill,” he said. “As for my peers and professors, I cannot express enough gratitude for them, as their mentorship has shaped me into the individual I am today.”

Ryan will cross the stage to get his degree and then take his place at the podium on June 1st during Education's ceremony, which starts at 10:00 AM at the Tomlinson Fieldhouse. We look forward to feting all of our graduates for their wonderful accomplishments!
