Fall harvest has begun! We were sad to see that a large branch from the cherry tree had fallen on one of the garden boxes after a very windy night, but happily there is not much damage to the plants.

I went by the garden to check on the watering and see how much everything has grown. What a gorgeous oasis in the middle of the university neighbourhood. We harvested some chard, some baby kale, and red basil to make a delicious salad with dinner tonight. And David snagged some radishes, since he seems to be the only one who likes them.

Cheers and blessings,
Michelle

Come by to see how much our garden has grown!! For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the Presbyterian College, it's on the corner of Milton and University. You can access the garden from the side stairs on Milton, right in front of the bixi bikes.

Hello all! We are planning another bike trip this Saturday! We will be going to the Biosphère at Parc Jean Drapeau (for real this time).
We'll be departing at 3pm from the College Garden.
Bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and a snack (or buy one there).

If you don't have a bike and want to rent a BIXI it's $5. If you need help, someone will cover for you. :) Let us know if you need a helmet as well.
Ankur can't join us, so no supper afterwards.

Also, no Sunday gardening, as Jill will be away.

The best bike ride yesterday!! We went to the bird sanctuary at the Lachine rapids, 19.5km from the College. And the weather was perfect. Cloudy and cool, but not a drop of rain. The birds were amazing! This red-winged black bird didn't seem to care at all that we were so close.

Hello all! You and your friends are invited on a bike trip to the Biosphere, Parc Jean Drapeau. Starting point is the Presbyterian College garden at 3 pm this Sunday. You can rent a bixi there if you don't have a bike. And if money is a problem, message us! There is always enough money in the kingdom of God. This will be a lovely, peaceful ride through the city to enjoy the beautiful weather and some excellent community. Join us, and get your blood pumping, and your lungs working to just breathe for a little while and leave your worries behind.

Went by the garden today and was immediately at peace. What a sanctuary!!! We harvested some chives while we were there, and with them made the best guacamole ever.
