We are pleased to share that Peter Siegel, PhD. has been named Associate Director of the Rosalind and Morris Goodman Cancer Institute.

In this role, Professor Siegel will help guide the GCI’s strategic direction and support its mission to advance cancer research, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and translate scientific discoveries into improved outcomes for patients. Nous avons le plaisir d'annoncer que Peter Siegel, PhD a été nommé Directeur adjoint de l'Institut du cancer Rosalind et Morris Goodman.

À ce titre, le Professeur Siegel contribuera à définir l’orientation stratégique de l’ICG. On , we are reminded that progress against is driven not only by discovery, but by extraordinary acts of generosity. Jerry Pelletier - a respected researcher, mentor, and colleague - passed away from cancer in 2023. In the face of his own diagnosis, Jerry made a decision that continues to shape cancer research today: he donated his tumour to science. His tumour has since been studied at the Rosalind and Morris Goodman Cancer Institute and McGill University and served as an inspiration for new research projects. En cette Journée mondiale contre le cancer, nous nous rappelons que les progrès dans la lutte contre le cancer ne découlent pas seulement de découvertes, mais aussi d’actes de générosité extraordinaires. Professor Guojun Chen, Ph.D., faculty member in the McGill University Biomedical Engineering department and principal investigator at the GCI, has been awarded the McGill University President's Prize for Outstanding Emerging Researchers. This honour is awarded to McGill faculty members who have distinguished themselves early in their careers through exceptional research contributions. Professor Chen's laboratory is focused on innovative drug delivery systems and precision medicine. By pushing the boundaries of biomedical engineering, Professor Guojun Chen is shaping the future of cancer drug delivery, precision medicine, and immunotherapy. Congratulations! Guojun Chen, Ph.D., professeur au Département de génie biomédical et chercheur à l’Institut du cancer Rosalind et Morris Goodman (ICG), s’est vu décerner le Prix du recteur pour les nouveaux chercheurs d’exception de McGill University . Cette distinction est attribuée aux membres du corps professoral de McGill qui se sont distingués au début de leur carrière par des contributions exceptionnelles à la recherche. Le laboratoire de recherche du professeur Chen est axé sur les systèmes innovants d’administration de médicaments et la médecine de précision. Ahead of , the GCI celebrates women researchers who bring invaluable perspectives to science, drive innovation, improve disease outcomes, and refine therapies to reduce side effects. We highlight two students from the McCaffrey lab, Maëlle Bouchard-Ouellet and Marie-Ève Proulx, who study ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), the most common type of non-invasive breast cancer, and aim to better understand this pre-cancerous stage to optimize treatment for patients.
