Moeller Method
Learn the same "time-tested" concept from Jim Chapin protege, Jacob, who studied "one on one" with Jim Chapin (20th century's most influential drum teacher). Jacob has taught hundreds of students, he's uniquely qualified to specialize in Hand Technique Development - Moeller Technique . Every student, young and old, student and current professional, male and female, is offered an opportunity to take their playing to the next level.
"Sanford A. Moeller made you play things with a continuous motion," Chapin said in a 1981 Modern Drummer article. "The motion was the message. You made the motion and the stick played it. After a while, it almost played itself." Jim Chapin
This concept, when mastered, improves your speed, adds control, increases your endurance and power. It can open up your overall playing of drum set to a more relaxed fluidity of movement, with less energy expended, at various tempos and is applicable to ALL styles.

QUOTES
"Jacob, you've got GREAT hands!!! ...hands from hell...!" Jim Chapin - circa 2005 (20th century’s most influential drum set educator)
*** Above quote made with Kenwood Dennard (Berklee College Music Professor), Russ Miller (2012 American Idol drummer, recording artist) and Geoffrey Lang (formerly with Nikki Yanofsky) in attendance.
"Very cool! ... I like the fact that you are doing YOUR combinations... and not just transcribing what I did."
Walfredo Reyes, Jr. (Santana, Christina Aguilera, etc.) - referencing his DVD
"I dig your playing big time and wanted to see if you do any online lessons or skype. I am trying to get my single stroke up and it is around 107 with or without Moeller but past that it is a strain. I am the guy that played with Herbie Hancock and the Headhunters. I have good chops but need to hit the next level and you are there. Dig your big band drumming man lots of fire. " Mike Clark circa 2014 - (Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Tony Bennett, etc)
"Hey Brother ..!!.. still remember the time you 'went out' like Elvin Jones at Crystal Mansion Studios." Johnny Neel (Formerly with the Allman Brothers Band & vocals on Walt Disney Records CD releases Finding Nemo, Cars, and Ratatouille.)
"Very nice. Nice hands, nice energy. Nice Independent Left hand lead.“ Kenwood Dennard (Sting, Dizzy Gillespie, Associate Professor of Percussion, Berklee College of Music)
"Jacob has a great sense of jazz, & chart reading. I was particularly impressed with the exciting playing displayed in concert with the big band video." Aldo Mazza, Kosa
Student quote:
"I contacted Jacob Kaye for his knowledge of the Moeller technique. I had heard a lot about this technique and tried to implement it in my playing, however it wasn't until studying with Jacob that I started to actually get a handle on it. Jacob is extremely knowledgeable about drumming and has a keen eye for spotting weaknesses and helping students progress to the next level. Jacob is an old pro, who has studied with Jim Chapin himself and selflessly shares his deep knowledge of music to his students. He is a real gem for our city and the drumming community. Don't miss the opportunity!" 2017 Anonymous (B.F.A. Concordia University) - Privacy, by request, is an option for students and professionals
