“Did you Know”? with the Early Childhood Cognition Lab!
Theory of mind is the cognitive capacity to understand that others have different beliefs and mental states from one’s own. Before about age four, many children do not have this full capacity. They assume that everyone knows what they know, even when others have had different experiences.
