📣 WE’RE HIRING! 📣

The Office of Community Engagement (OCE) is looking for a welcoming, organized, and detail-oriented student to join our team!

In this part-time role, you will help support the daily operations of our shared space with the SHIFT Centre for Social Transformation, while connecting with community members, visitors, and students.

What you'll do:
✔️ Provide administrative support for meetings, programs, projects, and events
✔️ Prepare cheque requisitions, expense reports, invoices, and other financial documents
✔️ Track departmental expenditures using Excel
✔️ Support the front desk and daily operations of the Centre
✔️ Welcome visitors, answer general inquiries, and share information about coworking days and events
✔️ Support other administrative and operational tasks as needed

We're looking for someone who is:
🔎 Friendly and comfortable communicating with diverse groups
🔎 Highly organized and detail-oriented
🔎 Comfortable handling confidential financial information with discretion
🔎 Reliable, proactive, and able to manage deadlines
🔎 Comfortable using Excel, Adobe Acrobat, DocuSign, and Microsoft 365
🔎 Comfortable asking questions and seeking support when needed
🔎 Bilingual, with conversational French-speaking skills

Location: In-person, at Concordia’s downtown campus
Hours: 15 hours/week, schedule determined with the successful candidate
Pay: $22/hour

Curious about what a community-based internship looks like? Start here! 🌿

This summer, we supported a student-led Indigenous garden at Loyola through our Community-Based Internship Program.

Made possible in collaboration with Professor Louellyn White of the First Peoples Studies (FPST) program, the project brought together students and community members to create opportunities for learning, connection, and engagement in the garden. 💚

As part of the project, student intern Alex Kack helped coordinate the garden, organize learning opportunities, conduct community outreach, and recruit student volunteers throughout the summer.
