Classes 405, 301, and 302 had the wonderful opportunity to welcome author Lydia Lukidis into our classrooms!

Students were captivated as she shared insights into her life as a writer and what it truly means to be an author. From exploring the depths of the ocean to the depths of imagination, her presentation brought learning to life in such an engaging way.

Inspired by her book Deep, Deep Down, Class 405 put their poetry and non-fiction writing skills to the test by creating their very own class book. Students were so proud to share their work and make connections to Lydia’s incredible writing.

Thank you, Lydia Lukidis, for such a memorable and inspiring visit!

The children in classes 401 and 402 have been learning all about gardening, flowers (annuals and perennials), vegetables, and herbs. Along the way, we discovered new vocabulary words such as topiary and bonsai, wrote a reading response on the book The Flower by John Light, had discussions, created posters and enjoyed reading stories connected to this theme.

Today, we visited the garden centre on Dollard Street where we purchased many plants and flowers to compliment our theme. The students had a wonderful time, learned so much, and were excited to explore the world of gardening hands-on! 🌱🌸
