If you were considering getting a nose job, you'll probably bring pictures to your first surgeon's appointment to discuss the possibilities, the risks and the desired aesthetic. Because you are the one who is going to live with said nose sitting on your face so it's pretty important to hash it out and make an informed decision before proceeding.
If you are considering gender affirming procedures, the same logic should apply. But finding pictures or reproductions of bottom parts is not an easy feat. There is the "adult content" pages, which are not a place designed to make informed medical decisions. Or the patients blogs on some recesses of the web. But if you don't know about them, you are left with very little content to base your decision upon.
This is when the gender affirming procedure toolkit comes to the rescue. It contains five models : one of a trans man who has been on testosterone for 7 years. One of a trans man who has had a metoidioplasty with a vaginectomy. One of a trans woman who has had a vaginoplasty. One of a trans man who has had a phalloplasty. And lastly one of a non binary person who has had a nullification. These are a good conversation starter to accompany folks who are questioning, trans or enby.
But of course they are just five examples and many more are needed. That is why the 3D ge***al database exists. To present more models, more bodies, more stories. So that people who need it can see what a metoidioplasty looks like with or without preserving the internal l***a. With or without neo-testicles.

Want to hear how French speaking people ( don't) pronounce their h properly? Well this is a masterclass.
But gliding over the dubious pronounciation, what matters is that 2 of the anatomical kits created by .sexed.fr are available in Braille for people who are Blind or visually impaired.
It's fundamental that all se×uality education content and material is adapted for people with different bodies and capacities and brain function... because... because life come on! We come in all size and shape and walk of life and there is no reason whatsoever for some of us to not receive important, life affirming education regarding bodies and pleasure and fun. And also protection from abuse as sadly people living with disability are disproportionately affected by it.
So spread the word. Adapt your material if needed. Or reach out to the people who have already done the work. Let's get everyone on board when it comes to education.

I never share anything that is not related to positive.sexed.fr on social media because it is really too time consuming to try to get to the bottom of things : who is the researcher, what are the optics, does it fit with the type of content that I want to promote...
But, I have seen Sari Van Anders at a conference and she/they are as close as it gets to being a scholar rock star. And I can't resist someone with beautiful brain and attitude.
So this is my exception. And I'll push it shamelessly because not only it is interesting but it is also free to attend.

I am telling you everything—and I mean everything—about the whys and hows behind the colors of .sexed models.
No, they aren’t fluorescent just because it’s cool and trendy! (I actually remember an old friend of mine, who has since passed away, making fun of these colors—which were way too bright and cheerful for my usual aesthetic, which usually swings between black, gray, and leopard print 😆).
Behind these colors there is wealth of reading, reflection, and dialogue with professionals from various fields who have shared their realities and concerns with me.
Because the fact is, I don’t work in the field. I rely on you and your feedbacks to know what’s best for engaging with the communities you serve.
My point is: without you, SX-ED+ is nothing. Keep sharing with me. Hop in impromptu Zoom calls whenever an idea or question pops into your head. Come sit with me in the exhibitors’ hall during the conferences. Every discussion, every encounter nourishes the project. And I thank you for that.
See you soon at the JF3S Congress!

When I receive testimonials like this, it's hard not to have a huge smile plastered on my face, even if it's a gray Monday morning!
Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences, projects, and successes with me.
Even though I work alone in my basement in Montreal, I am connected to hundreds of people around the world who are doing exceptional and important work.
Supporting your mission and your activities is the raison d'être of this project. And even though it's not always easy to run SX-ED + alone and without funding, at the end of the day, what matters is the impact we all have together on the se*ual health of our communities.
Don't give up, folks—the world needs you!
It just came out in theaters in France, and although I haven't seen it yet (I don't know if it will be available in Quebec. Does know?), SX-ED + models make a cameo appearance.
Because yes, the Maison des femmes network uses the anatomical models I make to support those who use their services.
Watching the film is good. Supporting your local Maison des femmes is even better! Dig into your pockets and support these organizations that offer multidisciplinary support to women who are experiencing or have experienced violence.

At the Women's House, between care, listening, and solidarity, a team fights every day to help women who are victims of violence rebuild their lives. In this unique place, Diane, Manon, Inès, Awa, and their colleagues welcome, support, and restore confidence. Together, with their strengths, their fragilities, their convictions, and their inexhaustible energy.
If you want to know more about those structures that support women who have experienced violence, the The New York Times did a portrait of Ghada Hatem, the founder a couple of weeks ago.

Sometimes, happiness can come from finding a beautiful collector toy forgotten at the back of a boutique. Njoy, you are creating pieces of great beauty. Thank you for your work. 💚

Next three days I am going to be in the woods with those two. No emails. No phone. Just snow and trees.
It's been months since I took intentionnal days off. Not for taking care of relatives or dealing with bouts of chronic pain flares.
The soul needs to be replenished. No one can run on an empty tank. Sadly the world doesn't leave much space to just be human and breathe. Let alone thrive.
I hope we all can find some individual and collective space to get a much needed breather.

Look at the cool video made by who has just received some plastic anatomical models for her institution.
Plastic? Since when does SX-ED + does plastic? Since se*ual health projects all over the world but especially on the South border of Canada have been defunded and left with as much needs than before but no money to answer those needs. So plastic it is. Cheaper. Less pretty. Not really relevant for people who learn by touch but hey! better than a kick in the butt and a 1/3 of the price.
The only place where Julia got it wrong was when she qualifies me as an artist 👩🎨 😅.
I have too much respect for artists to claim to be one. I am a mere researcher and activist who has learned the body casting techniques from scratch and from artists to complete a scientific project. No artistry. Just 2 hands and a desire to bring inclusive representations of bodies, identities and experiences to the world.
Anatomy and health education deserve better than 2D schematics of reproductive organs.
We are not all well versed on anatomy terms or translating said terms into a 3D thing.
But it is important to understand bodies. So in addition to this very accurate description from the text Anatomy of S*x: A Review of Critical Structures Within the V***a and Vad/gina published in Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology. Vol 33, No 1, January 2026 I am sharing this image that is worth a thousand words.
You are welcome 🤯😨!
As with all the material that I create, it is anatomically correct because cast on a lovely human :)
"The vad/gina contributes to se*ual function by providing a passage for penetrative se*ual activity, by producing fluid secretion for lubrication during se*ual activity, and by providing pleasurable sensory stimulation.
The vad/gina is a distensible fibromuscular tubular structure located between the bladder and re**um and is supported by connections to the pelvic wall. In the standing position, the vad/ginal apex is directed posteriorly toward the ischial spines, and the upper two-thirds of the vad/gina lie nearly parallel to the levator plate. Unless distended, the vad/ginal anterior and posterior walls are collapsed and in contact except where separated by the cervix. The recesses between the vad/gina and cervix form the anterior, posterior, and two lateral fornices of the va**na. The average length of the anterior vad/ginal wall
is 7 cm to 8 cm and the posterior wall is 9 cm [1,3].The layers of the vad/ginal walls include an inner mucosal layer that lines the va**nal lumen and consists of nonkerati-nized squamous epithelium with an adjacent lamina propria. This layer is surrounded by the middle muscular layer of smooth muscle, collagen, and elastin and then an outer adventitial layer, continuous with the visceral pelvic fascia that surrounds the vad/gina. These latter two layers form the fibromuscular component of the vad/gina."
