✨What a great achievement! The Ingram School of Nursing of McGill University proudly hosted the 13th edition of the JIIQ (Jeux des Infirmières et Infirmiers du Québec), held on January 16-17-18, 2026, welcoming nursing students from across Quebec to its Montreal campus.

As host institution, McGill provided an exceptional academic and collaborative environment that contributed to the success of this province-wide competition. 🎉🎉In addition to hosting the event, McGill’s nursing students delivered an outstanding performance, earning 3rd place out of 13 participating teams, a result that reflects their dedication, clinical knowledge, and team spirit🥉🥳

The Nursing Undergraduate Society is proud to support and showcase excellence in nursing education, and to play an active role in fostering collaboration and professional growth among the next generation of nurses. The Medicine Pediatric Interest Group is excited to partner with the Nursing Undergraduate Society for our first-ever interdisciplinary neonatal care workshop!

This hands-on session will provide practical, high-yield tips and skills directly applicable to your upcoming Labor & Delivery and Postpartum clinicals or preparing you for NICU in general, while also creating space to collaborate with medical students.

Participants will rotate through three interactive stations led by NICU nurses, pediatricians, and nursing students:

• Neonatal Resuscitation Algorithm 💉
• Postpartum Care 🤰
• Neonatal Assessment 👶

Learn directly from clinicians who work in these settings every day, strengthen your clinical confidence, and practice core newborn care skills in a supportive, peer-based environment.

🗓 When: February 6th, 6–8 PM
🏥 Where: Montreal Children’s Hospital, room TBD

Last week, the NUS hosted the annual career fair! It was a huge success, will 200 students in attendance and 11 organizations who joined us on the 19th floor of the Ingram School of Nursing.

Students and attendees had the opportunity to network with healthcare organizations around Canada, give their CVs and ask meaningful questions about their future.

We want to thank all of the organizations for their participation and attendance.

On November 10, for the International Interns’ Day, the Quebec Student Union, student associations, and unions invite you to a major mobilization to demand paid internships for all students in Quebec and the unionization of interns.

Even today, many students complete internships, often full-time, without being paid, which increases student precarity.
Not to mention that most unpaid internships are in female-dominated fields! In fact, 64% of university interns are women, and 74% at the college level.
The NUS encourages all students to stand in solidarity and take part in this important protest demanding fair pay for all interns. ✊
Your voice matters, together, we can make change happen!
While we do not promote missing mandatory classes or exams, we invite you to communicate with your instructors or facilitators if you plan to attend. Faculty members have been informed of the protest and know that the NUS stands behind this movement.

The government must put an end to this inequality!
